Here we go again... Time to cook some war chicken stew. Davie lost to Page last week 35-28, and now has to get up for an old rivalry.

Davie is always pretty solid athletically and very similar to us. They apparently have a tall QB this year, we shall see how good he is against the Black Knight pass rush.

Our offense last year started out slow for the first one and a half games, then exploded in the second half against Davie. Hopefully they just go ahead and get it done in the first half this time lol.

Did I hear the announcer say that North is playing West Forsyth’s JV on Thursday night instead of Davie? If so, why? Does Davie not have a JV?

I would certainly hope so. Davie is legit 4A after all lol. I would think we're playing the Davie jv, not west, but I probably won't be there anyway.

I think JV can only play 10 games. So perhaps they just choose who to drop? Davie JV has an open week this week before returning to action vs Mooresville.

Maxpreps has Mt Tabor’s JV Schedule as having only 9 games.

This game won't be easy. I listened to Davie-Page on the radio and Davie led a good portion of the game. Page scored late to win by a touchdown. I hope we come ready to play this Friday. Looking forward to seeing Davie's new field.

Either Carver is really bad, or Oak Grove is better than expected. Should be an interesting year, though it’s still ND’s to lose.

Carver had some athletes, but their coaching was atrocious, 4 penalties for illegal substitution. But they may have been kind of tired too. Quite a few of the Carver players played JV the night before.

I wasn’t in Mocksville for the game, but I know this... the fans I sit near at North Davidson games have never been beaten. It is always someone else’s fault. Refs, Phase of the moon, etc. etc.

Davie is solid. North has gaps in their game. I think it’s best they lost tonight. Lots to work on for the home stretch.

Ooooooo that smell.. not too far away is a O'natural recycling farm that recycles food waste into top soil. It gets rough with a NW' breeze. Great ball game though. Gonna be fun to watch this team in a few years. Davie fields one the youngest teams Ive ever seen. All starters,, #2 wr/rb freshman, #5 wr sophomore, #23 cb sophomore #22 wr sophomore, #60 LT freshman, # 10 qb sophomore, #55 DE sophomore #90 kicker sophomore.

ND kids shot themselves in the foot over and over with the stupid penalties.

The Davie QB showed a lot of poise for a sophomore on that last drive. He may turn out to be a really good one. He has the size and the arm strength.

ND will still be fine in the CCC. They need to get some receivers back. There were three sitting on the bench with injuries tonight. However, I'm not sure they could have gotten them the ball tonight even if they had been out there. ND just couldn't block Davie's DLine, and the QBs made some questionable throws under pressure..

North's problems, and I will admit it now when I was reluctant to last week, is at the QB and RB positions. No play makers right now on offense, hopefully that will change when their two best receivers (and I mean TALL receivers) get back on the field. That could all change, no doubt about it, but that offense is very stagnant if you ask me. Now for the defense, I have never seen a team seem to give up a first down on almost EVERY single 3rd down play. It didn't matter if it was 3rd an 5 or 3rd and 15. It was almost like Davie was calling plays to get it to 3rd down because they knew they would get the first down. It got to the point where it was turning into a joke in our section every time it got to 3rd down. That last drive by Davie to win the game should have been over after the first three downs the Eagles had the ball. After they got the third first down of the drive (all on 3rd down plays) you could just feel that they were going to score and win the game.

Oh well, Davie has a future star in their QB, kid made some great plays after looking like he was going to get sacked. Off week for North next week and the conference play in two weeks with Oak Grove.

The offense was terrible. Better in the second half, but obscene for the whole game. Qb and rb DO need work. 2A will help that...

Defense was... Good. As far as making tackles and being at the ball. They were HORRIBLE with penalties. We must have had over 100 yards in unsportsmanlike, facemask and late hit penalties.

You are correct that we have those people lol. Kinda like Carolina basketball fans, never lost a game cept for the refs...

I believe the loss will serve as proper motivation. We can only take care of business now in regard to seeding. Win the conference and gain a 1 or 2 seed. Lose and you're looking at a much tougher situation. Let's play...

North did not have black and orange, they had orange and gray. I Really do not like the uniforms with all that gray. The defense gave up too many third-down plays. The QB for Davie was very elusive and the Reynolds kid is one heck of a player.

Stop them on third down, boom, a roughing the passer penalty well after the QB got rid of the ball. That happened at least twice. Of course the customary "Running your mouth" unsportsmanlike penalty we love so much. That one seems to happen every game. I know North won't see a team like Mount Tabor or Davie County the rest of the regular season (Ledford will be a challenge though, no doubt), but they better clean A LOT of stuff up starting next week in the BYE week.

I just put 2 and 2 together, I didn't realize that was Chris Reynolds' little brother. Between Hampton, Reynolds, Carney, and others, Davie is going to be a handful in a couple of years.

I saw where Chris Reynolds is now #1 on the depth chart at QB for UNCC and was given a scholarship. I'm glad to see they are giving him a chance despite his size. All of us opposing fans saw what he could do at Davie. He was a Houdini when the play broke down.

I'm not sure ND should take Oak Grove for granted after last night. I know they rolled them up in the JV game last year, but Mark has had another year of working with them and they have had a year of conditioning. If ND comes out with the stupid penalties and the lack of offensive production, it could get pretty sporty.

M193_55g, I have NO DOUBT what so ever that our defense will get several of those penalties in the Oak Grove game. I can see that coming a mile (or should I say two weeks) away! That is the first game of a brand new rivalry with North's former coach. Our guys will have to "put on a show" to let the Grizzly fans know how cool they are. Holcomb will take advantage of the ND hotheads on defense, that is a guarantee. I still see ND winning that game though.
