Exactly. Will they realign the every 4 years or 2 years. I heard talks of one time of realigning every 2 years. That part I like to see.
even if they put richmond in the west region it would really be tough to have a conference that richmond could possibly in for the west then putting richmond in the east region there is a good possibly of a split conference with 8a/7a that would put richmond in.Curious how they split the 8A East/West geographically. For example, Richmond is closer to Mecklenburg County schools and Pinecrest is closer to Wake County Schools, however those 2 (and hoke) are all about 30 minutes apart.
If they limit the amount of teams to 32 then they need to seed them based on something other than geographics. the imaginary ever shifting line that divides the east and west will make this bad idea even worse. right now even with moving richmond back west the East has a lot more schools.Curious how they split the 8A East/West geographically. Which continues to muddy the waters when it comes to seeding. The Wilmington schools too.even if they put richmond in the west region it would really be tough to have a conference that richmond could possibly in for the west then putting richmond in the east region there is a good possibly of a split conference with 8a/7a that would put richmond in.
IDK I'd say take the best 16 regardless of geography and let them fight it out.How will the playoffs work moving forward..How many teams will get in…
Recent history or you'd have to include Garner!OK Looking at this using historical references
In 8A your best teams in the west will be Hough, Mallard Creek, West Forsyth, Richmaond CO, Reagan
8A East Rolesville, Hoggard, Pinecrest, Jordan, Millbrook, Leesville Road
7A looks much more difficult
7A west Indy, West Charlotte, Grimsley, Marvin Ridge, Mooresville, Weddington, Butler, East Forsyth
7A East Wake Forest, Britt, Clayton, Cleveland, Hillside, S Durham, New Bern.
8A/7A Richmond Hoke and Pinecrest 8A. Jack Britt Overhills Pine Forest and Cape Fear 7A. Is what makes since to me. Fayetteville area schools.im courious on what the conference would look like for richmond
If you look at the number of powerhouse programs in the East compared to the West, we can see a clear trend where the East has traditionally had more dominant teams. This could lead to a situation where teams from the West are consistently at a disadvantage when it comes to tournament seeding, even if their performance metrics are comparable or superior. If they limit the amount of teams to 32 then they need to seed them based on something other than geographics. the imaginary ever shifting line that divides the east and west will make this bad idea even worse. right now even with moving richmond back west the East has a lot more schools.
Could keep the same conference and have a split 8A/6A.8A/7A Richmond Hoke and Pinecrest 8A. Jack Britt Overhills Pine Forest and Cape Fear 7A. Is what makes since to me. Fayetteville area schools.
Some will get close to double the size. The biggest thing they should not do at this point is do split conferences in the bigger metropolitan areas. There is no reason a school with 1700 students should have to play in a conference with a school that has 2300. It's a lot easier to find more kids to play and have more talent when you have a bigger ADM.
Can we see the changes?
The finalized ADM numbers after review West Charlotte and a couple of other schools were moved to different classifications from the original ADM posted. West Charlotte is now 8A while Richmond and Reagan were moved down to 7A.
Yes but a Gibbons Charlotte Catholic finals would be epic.Gibbons has no business playing 6A. They have way too many “advantages” to play in any division other than 8A.
Move them both up to 8A and see if they’re recruiting well enough to play with the big boys. In all seriousness, who wants to see 2 private schools play for the public state championship each year?Yes but a Gibbons Charlotte Catholic finals would be epic.

Haha. Well, I just heard that Gibbons has asked to move up to 8A, but they are probably going to end up in 7A. So, we will see. This guy
Yeah I heard that too.Haha. Well, I just heard that Gibbons has asked to move up to 8A, but they are probably going to end up in 7A. So, we will see.
Apologies for going off topic, but you had to go to a D3 school with that username. If you don’t mind me asking, where did you go?Yeah I heard that too.
I would go more along the lines of Hoke and Pinecrest 8A; Richmond, Jack Britt, Lumberton, and Purnell Swett 7A due to travel constraints8A/7A Richmond Hoke and Pinecrest 8A. Jack Britt Overhills Pine Forest and Cape Fear 7A. Is what makes since to me. Fayetteville area schools.
