Affect high school sports. Get ready for what you see in college coming to a high school near you. Sad that this banquet it has come to.
In the words of Nick SabanAfter following college NIL since its inception.
The main problem with the current iteration of NIL is that people abuse it by paying players in the transfer portal and/or recruits a sum of money to get them to come to their school and play. So it's turned into the rich getting richer...
It's supposed to be about how a kid can benefit from their name, image, and likeness from ads/marketing/sponsorships, appearances, selling of merch/memorabilia/etc. and fundraisers. A big part of it is using social media to drive these campaigns.
I have a feeling College NIL (and hopefully high school) will omit the paying for transfers/recruits part, and keep what it was originally intended to be.
