Oh how the mighty have fallen. Is the SMC really that bad to only have one team clinging on to the #13 spot? I'd probably have them Swain County Maroon Devils in there somewhere!!!

Well the SMC will just have to make its present felt come playoff time remember what Swain did last year dont ever count the SMC out

SMC has 4 teams that are capable of making deep runs into the playoffs. I wouldnt overlook Andrews either. Surprised Swain doesnt even get an honorable mention.

I have a feeling East Wilkes will make some noise come playoff time. I talked to a parent last week and he says they have the best team they have ever had and their record shows it. Me? I still think West Montgomery takes it all!

I agree, I think West Montgomery is the team to beat.

Thankfully, the top teams get to prove it where it counts, on the field. I expect Swain or Mount Airy to shake it up against a really good team somewhere in there when the brackets come out. It will be interesting, the west has a top team knocked out early almost every year. If I had one of those 2 teams early, I would be very worried.

This poll will be interesting to review about Thanksgiving , when as usual, the SMC has 3 or 4 teams still standing in the 3rd round and NUMEROUS teams in the poll have already hung it up....Wash, rinse, repeat almost every season

You can't count little 1A knine. At least there is some semblance of suspense each year about which conference will represent the west in 1AA. There is never any doubt that the SMC will represent in 1A, its just a matter of who.

The next 2 weeks in the SMC is going to be good....Swain vs Murphy and Swain vs Robbinsville.

Still have 2 weeks to play in the SMC. The conference has been tough this year as far as injuries, no excuses , just sayin. The big 4 are going to play it out and lord knows what will happen on those games. Should be some real battles. Just wishing all our teams good luck and hope everyone gets healthy so we can represent the great SMC
