I definitely think Shelby should be in the poll also. You play the toughest schedule and are still 3-3. Not sure who to drop from the poll. The west just has a lot of pretty good teams this year so it's hard to judge. FH might lose to Parkwood. Massey has us as underdogs again.

Shelby played the toughest 1st 3 games for sure….here’s Max Preps top 10 2a SOS currently.

Those South Granville boys are playing #11 3a (#51 overall) Southern Durham this week.

The Creedmoor Vikings will be rubbing elbows with some of those big 4a schools on SOS if they keep it up.

Youre snuggling up to your KOUS(King Of Ugly Sweaters) again. You didnt' pick Detroit back in the Madden days when they had Barry Sanders. You picked the Cowboys or 49ers.

I give them credit for having cheat code Barry Sanders/Derrick Henry type running backs more often than most teams in the state.

Simmons has Parkwood @ FH prediction as EVEN so it could go either way I guess. Parkwood is a drastically improved program from what it use to be. I wouldn't want them as a first round matchup in 3A. They can easily surprise a good team.

Since Forest Hills got pretty decent in football starting in 1980-81 under the late Algie Faircloth Parkwood was another team FH ran the score up on. Monroe was also the same. 😆 With the influx of people moving into Union County especially in the early and mid 2000s every program that was bad has an improved. No more crushing opponents anymore. Then add all the new schools starting with Weddington we went from 5 high schools during my day to 12 and another in the works. 6 of those are 4A alone. Also Forest Hills is getting a new school if the Bond passes. Large new two story high school. I think they're expecting growth since the new toll bypass starts/ends right at Forest Hills.

West Davidson will at best be a 4-6 team. They are terrible and will finish near the bottom of their league and has no chance of the playoffs.

Noted….and I agree with you.

I will say…. I was surprised the strength of their schedule was rated that high.

All of their opponents have good records except Wheatmore…..including Southwestern Randolph who is 4-1 and their only loss is to West Davidson.

Go figure!

I didn't notice how good it was when they beat us in the playoffs. Standing on the sidelines it was just not that noticable how great the blocking was. In the State championship sitting up higher in the stands it was easy to see. If you have a copy of the game go back and watch that line. That is how you run the ball. WRH just couldn't control the passing game. It also hurt to lose that TD that the ref mistakenly called the guy out of bounds when he was 6" inside the line.

They will secure at least one more win but possibly two. Both of the OBX schools are on the upcoming schedule. Ahoskie will be the place to be tomorrow night when the top 2a team in the east plays host to the Northeastern Eagles.

Otis, I agree 100% about line play. I don’t want to take anything away from Kanye, but if Montgomery had carried the ball 26 times he would have had 250 yards too. WRH has some very good backs but that line does work.

It's also easy to forget the whole deal that went down the week leading up to that game. WRH had COVID issues and couldn't practice. Huge distraction. They had nothing to be ashamed of. Lost 3 or 4 starters because of that.

Regardless, no one outside of Maiden would take you guys over Shelby, the team left out of your “according to y’all top 10”. It wasn’t “y’all” though, more like yourself, to be honest. Because as I mentioned earlier, most 2A posters would actually still have Shelby in their top 10. Chopper, too.

Nothing against East Surry, either, but they are not the no.1 team in 2A, in my opinion. They are no.1 only by default. They were highly ranked to begin with, and they haven’t lost. That said, they haven’t beaten anyone aside from 1A Mt Airy.

In all fairness the argument can be made that Maiden and East Surry have a more quality win on their resume than Shelby does. Shelby’s conference is horrible outside of them and Burns. East Surrys is just as bad. Maiden plays in a better league than either of them. Granted Shelby is still Shelby and most of us believe they will be heard from in late November. No one denies that I don’t think. The beauty of polls is none of it really matters. Never understand why so many of y’all get your feelings hurt.

There was a block in the back on the same play behind him that they let go so that cancels out.

We lost. We also scored 34pts against a very good team. It was a very competitive game. The score shows 3rds. So be it. They were very good-and will be heard from this year too imo. You need to give credit where it's due, and quit hating on the east so much. I'm not gonna go back and forth with you too much, but you know enough football to know whoever the east sends can represent well. Maybe it'll be pasquatank, who knows? Lighten up some

You're right about that, it was close for one half but everybody could see the writing on the wall. Wrh defense was quite bad, the wrh HC didn't even trust it enough to kick the ball deep. He knew he couldn't stop Shelby offense. Just hoping to win the turnover battle. That onside with like a minute left in the half was insanity. A quick pass to Bridges and that was all she wrote.
