NCHSAA girls basketball playoffs 2025

Congrats to Cherokee on a great year! Also, congrats to senior W Rogers scoring 33 pts in the finals (and one poster said she couldn’t play D2…)
Cherokee should be back in the finals next year returning 4/5 starters.
I wish she could have played against Bishop she always shows up in the big games
Stamper and fourkiller both got little sisters coming up next year as well the younger fourkiller is really good

Vik, are you going to be in Winston on Saturday to help Lake Norman ??
Unfortunately I’m not going to be able to make it tomorrow. I’m working on a house trying to get it ready for closing next week. REWhitley, are you going tomorrow

Serious question will Cherokee have a competitive game at all next season? With heritage moving up to 3a...Albemarle graduating there four good players...Bishop graduating there star player. I see an easy three peat in braves future. I guess best team would be queens grant who kinda sorta played Bishop decent lol

Avery will be 2A and should be very good next year. But Cherokee is a different level

I just saw where the Holland girl for Stuart Cramer had 49 points in her team's loss. But that has to be a record for a state championship game. So, I went in search of the NCHSAA record books. https://www.nchsaa.org/record-books/
They've really changed those, and I don't think it's for the better. They used to have game summaries in them of championship games going back more than thirty years and lists of undefeated teams and teams who've won both boys and girls state titles in the same years. All of that is gone. It's not like it was taking up shelf space or anything and it bothers me when digital records like that get altered and we can't go back and look things up. This is especially true since getting records from before MaxPreps is doubly sketchy.

I wouldn’t write Bishop off. They still have Coach Robinson and he always has some talent to worth with.

U might be right he is probably best coach in league but if they couldn't beat braves with Jernigan I don't see them beating them without. They better hit transfer portal...they basically have two short girls returning that can shoot 3's and that's about it from the games I watched them this season.

Thanks for sharing this. I hate that I didn’t get to go to the game. But I did manage to catch the best part which was about 2 mins to go. When LN was up by 6 with little over a minute to go that it was over. But It was like not so fast. But LN managed to get that last sec shot. Weather it was by 2 or 20 a win is a win. Congratulations to Lake Norman!!. REWhitley was you at the game.

I was at the game, just got to my office. With all respect to Wakefield who never gave up, I will have to say this was Lake Norman's worse performance of the year. They could not hit chip shots, lay ups, got out rebounded many, many times and was just lazy with passes--needlessly so. I think LN might have hit 2 3's in the entire game.

Not sure if it was nerves, the constantly changing lights, the full contact sport the referees allowed--both ways-- the pressure of the game.
But the two young ladies coming off the bench just played lights out and made the difference.

Give all the credit in the world to Wakefield for making the two threes to tie the game up with under a minute to play. Lake Norman got the ball back with 19.7 seconds and at about 10 seconds got in the hands of the MVP of the game who circled the key and took it to the basket for the winning layup about 1.3 seconds left in the game.

The Lake Ladies had to dig really deep to win this game. I thought the Coaching staff did a good job trying to keep the players fresh and under control as much as they could in what turned into a pressure cooker game.
