Remember Lake Norman defeated New Hanover early in the season in Wilmington. North Mech might just have enough to win it all again.
If New Hanover is fortunate enough to make it back to the finals I expect N Meck/ Chambers to be a formidable opponent. Lake Norman won a fairly close game early in the season when our best player shot 6-23. Of course Lake Norman fans would claim their defense was responsible but NHHS fans say that 6-23 isn't happening again. Hopefully we will get another shot at s state championship.

What happened in the Crest Smith game at the end. Crest was up by 2 with 1.5 seconds and had the ball and were called for a techincal foul. Smith hit both free throws to tie the game. Crest lost in OT??????

In 3A Southern Durham beat Swansboro 78-65. They play the winner of Hunter Huss vs Smith.
It looks like Swansboro lost to the Southern School of Energy and Sustainablilty............ Give me a break!! Why don't you just call it the school that all the basketball players go so they can win with a bunch of recruited players playing against public schools. I think that is terrible and should not be allowed by the NCHSAA. But they only care about the money.
I'm pretty sure that's Southern durham high school. Not sure why the name changed to that.
Any posters planning on being in Winston on Wednesday? I am currently planning on making the trip and would like to meet a poster or two.
I plan on being there for the McDowell game. Probably right close to tip time.

Southern School of Energy & Sustainability is Southern Durham High School (which has been here since 1955) . They added the “SES” in 2013. You could’ve literally taken the two seconds required to look this up before falsely accusing a regularly districted public school of the Durham Public Schools system of being a misplaced chartered/private sports academy, especially one of the most economically disadvantaged one in the city.
It’s the exact same public high school that’s been here 70 years and has been districted to East Durham for the past 30 years. The exact same school that some might remember for beating Crest for the 2013 State Championship in football.
You mean the one Crest beat for the 2015 State Championship in football?
Yes sir, and huge respect to Crest & that dynasty, that wasn’t a slight at them or their program. I was using it as a reference to the person above that made claims of it being a private/charter of the last title game appearance they had when they still were using the “Southern Durham HS” name on a large platform because any season after 2013 was “SES”. I’m a neutral watcher of statewide sports so if someone usually woofs with you about Shelby/Crest on here, it wouldn’t be me.
Woofs is a verb they use at Crest to describe their wives eating habits.

Oh I know 100%. I was just poking fun with you 😂. Those were some great championship games! I remember Southern Durham well, but I honestly didn't know that was who the SES was until this playoff run. Usually when a school adds or changes their name like that it's to open up more government funding of some sort, but I have no idea if that was the case with them or not.
Corvian, a 1A size school, with 5 players listed at 6'5" or taller on their roster.
Like I said they were tough. Reidsville had a 15 point lead on them and they got it to 8 at the end
2 metro Charlotte teams playing 1a ball to see who goes to state just ain't right.
