Here we go... it's time. Let the games begin!

Oak Grove at Aboro
North Davidson at Montgomery Central
Central Davidson at Ledford

Well I thought Aboro had improved a ton but that loss to SWR really put some water on the fire... OG by whatever they want. This will be uggglllyyyyyy...

North and MC is the most interesting game to me and not just because I'm biased lol. The Timberwolves are looking for a legit conference win for the first time since the conference formed (Aboro don't count). The Black Knights are trying to gain some momentum after looking good at least in moments against a strong nonconference schedule. Not sure if I'll be able to make it to Troy Friday but will be listening if not.

Central and Ledford is also interesting. The Panthers lost to the bigger team they played in Glenn and except for West Davidson (still shocked over that one) beat up on the weak part of their schedule. Central was not afraid to step up against more talented schools and beat West who Ledford got destroyed by. We shall see... is Ledford ready for the double wing? If not it'll be a long night...

Be safe everybody.

Well there goes Montgomery Centrals chance to beat North in the conference after four tries. Maybe they can pull it off against Ledford. Ditto for Aboro, though I don't think anyone seriously thought they would challenge OG. The score ended up being more respectable than anticipated. Ledford is looking terrified right now. Central looking to push their luck and finish second or third in the conference, and they always play OG tough for a half at least so who knows...

One thing for sure, conference is more interesting week to week this year even if the status quo continues.

Aboro continues to be the head scratcher, pushing ER and Randleman to the brink and then losing to SWR but performing admirably against OG. All they need to do is figure out how to win for four quarters. Then they may have something. Time will tell. I say give Brown more time and see how realignment shakes out.

I"m hoping they'll scramble the Mid Piedmont Conference with the Mid State 3-A ( mostly Guilford County institutions ) next alignment, but I"m thinking one Mid Piedmont school, starts with an A and ends with an O, will have no part of that action. Montgomery Central could join the Harnett twins ( Western and Central ) , Union Pines, Northwood, and the Lee County schools, where they should have been placed in the first place.

Agreed. Maybe Jordan Matthews too even though they are awful and it's so sad considering their history and tradition. Siler City is now majority Hispanic so that has killed the JM American Football program. As well as moving from 1A to 2A...

Asheboro has a QB that can really sling it. Very strong and accurate arm. The game wasn't as close as the score indicated. OG pulled their starters on defense and Asheboro’s offense took advantage of that.
At this point, I think second place belongs to either Asheboro or Central Davidson. My current guess is:
1- OGHS
2- CDHS
3- Asheboro
4- NDHS
5- Montgomery Central
6- Ledford
(3 and 4 are interchangeable)

I do not think so; last years kicker is at Va Tech and I think our current kicker will also play for a solid school; he’s currently a Junior.
