Man I love that you pull for MC and I personally think Metzeger is great coach. I have met him and talked to him many times in various capacities. It is awesome you guys finally put together a winning season and are making your first playoff appearance under Metzeger.
With that being said y'all lost against people this year who are not good. Piedmont is one of the worst teams I saw play this year, I mean they finished at the bottom of their 3A/2A split conference. You guys are about to get hit in the mouth in ways you have not been. SP is physical and they run their system very well, it is something taught from early ages on up through.
Take heart though, you're junior loaded and the future looks bright for you in Timberwolves land. Your junior class will get some playoff experience with this game and maybe realize where the bar is to be really good and rise to meet expectations. Realignment could help y'all as well.
Like crestrulz said, this is not one of SP’s all time great teams. And I have no idea how good your team is, I’m just making assumptions. We played them to open the season, and our defense did pretty well, but they controlled field position and scored on two short punt returns. SP’s run defense seemed pretty strong, but at that point we were still figuring out what to do on offense and it wasn’t pretty.
I do like you guys color scheme and mascot. I was looking at your past results on maxpreps. Is this your first ever playoff appearance?
Yes I am a big fan of Metzeger since he took over. We are very young with only 9 or 10 seniors and will have to face some growing pains which may begin this week when we face SP.
Certainly true. Next years version of SP should be one of the best we have seen in a while.
I know it will be man. You all are going to be awful good.
Next year will be one of Crest's better teams as well. Or at least it should be.
I guess you should know if this is Montgomery Central's first playoff appearance, Tadpole, but I was thinking it is your first playoff as Montgomery Central. I know West Montgomery made numerous playoff appearances, and East Montgomery, too. When was your first journey into the playoffs as Montgomery Central ? The wolf they have in the hallway entering the school is massive and a beautiful creature. It is something to see!
I have only watched one game (Huss vs SP). They seem to be missing a few things. 140 wingbacks that can fly. Usually have a kicker who kicks to the end zone every time (don't have one). QB and fullback are grown men and very good (FB also plays LB on defense).
Defense and special teams really smarm to the ball. Crest folks like to call SP "midgets", they are not they are plenty big enough.
