Lowman will have the cards ready to play. Little ole ES (ADM 578) will be the underdog just like last year.Think this game has more scoring that last year. ES 27 - Monroe 24.

My son's played for Dave. And I am an East fan although I do have a nephew that plays in Mount airy. Personally I think we are good. Probably not as good as last year. Definitely aren't going to be very good in the next 4 to 5 years. Not to the level we have been. So we need to get it done this year. I will say I am extremely disappointed in the way some of our illustrious alumni ransacked Dave. I think it pretty much started when he was going to move the one kid to wide receiver when he wanted to play quarterback. Because I think he fit his offense better. So Daddy Jay found a coup. Not really sure how they got Trent. He had been terrible at Bandy's trying to keep the tradition his father had alive. I'm sure they were glad he left the next year they finished 12 and 2. I think he'll jump ship like a Pirate on a plank as soon as this year's over because he sees what's coming. Some of the stuff he is said recently lens to his character. And you know some of that has stayed out of the spotlight. I think he's worn out as welcome pretty soon. He can go to West if he wants to. He'll still get his ass kicked by Reagan every year. Who has a much better coach. The kids though don't have anything to do with their daddy and their coach. So I hope they do fantastic. If he does leave good riddance. Short-term has been great. Long-term won't be. And he ain't going to stick it out for that.If he does he'd certainly get the job
I think a lot of Dave and still not happy with the way things went down before 2018 season. I think the Cards would have been good under Dave the last few years but not to the level Lowman has taken them. East may be down the next couple of years but the group of kids that are freshman and the 8th grade group coming in next year are going to be something special for who ever is coaching. Maybe our AD will take the job if he does leave. My son's played for Dave. And I am an East fan although I do have a nephew that plays in Mount airy. Personally I think we are good. "I'd still rather be a Cardinal, than anything I know"...Look at Lowman's situation, he coached Bandys right after his daddy. Big shoes to fill is an understatement. Comes to East Surry right after a local legend and coaching giant is unceremoniously given the the boot. At Bandys he did mediocre at best, comes to Pilot Mtn and seemingly sets the world on fire. With no ties to the area and with his wife also teaching, he could very well go somewhere else. If he does i wish him absolutely nothing but the best. My oldest played for Coach Diamont and my youngest played for both Diamont and Lowman. One was as much as a class act on and off the field as the other. We can and have at length on here debated coaching styles and I'm not getting into that. For years we did joke that Coach Diamonts play book had one page. Full back trap on one side and 2pt conversion on the other. In his later years he did vary some from the run first pass never style. When Tyler Smith and that group of recivers came through he changed things up significantly and had success but never could quite put together a good playoff run. Early exits were always the norm. Lowman comes in and brings the red storm in and for the past few years lit the 1A world up. The move to 2A is a different animal. Some hard fought narrow wins last year proved that the kids led by him could be special. For years I've heard the talent level had fell off after this group of seniors. Past successes don't necessarily mean future wins but the outlook is bleak to the recent standards.
Not going to rehash the Diamont removal debacle but I was thinking back to when the start of the hatred for Dave came to a head. Well from one of the parties involved anyways. We were playing West Sokes, the game was pretty close. Jefferson was playing qb. We're on defense and a defensive end gets rolled up on and West is running their hurry up offense. The D end is trying to get off the field and Diamont yells for another D end to get in the game. Jefferson was and still is a big ole boy. He runs up and says I can go in. Diamont pushes him away and says he needs another one. This all happened in a couple seconds. Nobody else is going in so Diamont pushes Jefferson out there. He lines up and on the next snap he gets his ankle rolled up on. The vocal diarrhea from the crowd is unbelievable. I mean who puts their starting qb in to play D end? Wait... he had be playing D end earlier in the year when he was splitting time at qb with Steven Gosnell. From that day on the unrest in that group was unbelievable. If they would have waited Dave said he was planning to retire after the next season anyways. Parents with little pull and the principal put an end to that. I don't agree on how it was handled but I do know that the heat that the players and Lowman got the next couple years was undeserved because they had absolutely nothing to do with the events that got rid of Dave.
Everything hasn't always been sunshine and roses in Pilot Mtn but I'd still rather be a Cardinal than anything I know.
Gimme East Surry by 6 in a nail-biting finish on Friday.
I hear ya brother, was on the very first Cardinal team in 1973 when we switched mascots. Cardinal through and through. At the fence 25 yard line every Friday night.Go Cards.Look at Lowman's situation, he coached Bandys right after his daddy. Big shoes to fill is an understatement. Good move! 50 years later, Cardinals works pretty well for this spectator.Rebels
According to Stokes News AD is leaving and taking a position at UNC.I think a lot of Dave and still not happy with the way things went down before 2018 season. Class act for sureYes, I saw that last night. Austin Fleming is a class act and will do well in whatever he decides to do in his career. West Stokes fortunate to have him as an athlete and ES fortunate to have him on staff the last couple of years.
Monroe were the Rebels also back when I was in high school in the late 80s.Rebels
Glad that we both went both went Red Birds.Monroe were the Rebels also back when I was in high school in the late 80s.

They do a very good broadcast for those who can’t make it to the game. NOB will be making usual Friday night drive back home and be down at the fence. Looking for those X factors to kick in tomorrow night. Still predicting ES by 3. Go cards100.9 WIFM Will be broadcasting the game Friday night with pre-game starting at 6:45. They are hands down the best broadcast in our area.
Go Big Red

GAME DAY! Safe travels for all traveling to games tonight. For those coming to Pilot Mountain tonight I think we are in store for a very hard fought and competitive game. They do a very good broadcast for those who can’t make it to the game. Thinking Simmons may miss this one. I can’t see either team winning by more than 3. Still think Cardinals with 20 + seniors will refuse to lose at home. Look for Boaz to have a big night. The NOB still says ES by 3.He is going 7-1 this week!😂😂😂
Typical Monroe slow start...I'll be wow faced after the half14-0 East Surry 5 minutes left in 1sr qtr.
half time score14-7 East end of 1st qtr.
