Hoggard D line controlled the game and the defense tosses its first shut out of the year. Jones struggled in the first half but played better in the second half. CF is a well coached team and they were ranked 29 in SC 5A. Great road win for the Vikes.

CF folks I know said Hoggard is a solid team with 4 really good athletes on the defense and a big ol fellow running the ball. Said soph corner has big time written all over him. They were pleased at how well their d played against Hoggard. Literally only giving up 14 points. The one yd plunge was on the offense.

Hoggard defense played lights out after CF had a few good early runs. JV got smoked 30-0 in opener and CF varsity must have thought, same school same result but they consistently got popped in the mouth for losses. If they were still in the same classification I would say NH-Hoggard would probably meet in the playoffs like they use to do but that end of the regular season finale will be a good one.

Several were talking about Hoggard's offense at the start of the season, but it has been the defense paving the way (13 points given up so far). Offense has been led by the big running back Lloyd Jarreau ( he has gained 80 yards or more in every game so far) with the passing game doing enough to keep the defenses honest. Hoggard should win the rest of their games on the schedule until they meet New Hanover at the end of the season.

The offense is close. They have missed at least twice every game on long TD passes. Toutle is still learning and Jones still trying to get in sync with this group. It will come together and when it does the offense will put up big numbers. Would love to see that happen against PS. The defense has been much better than than expected. Kemp is getting a lot of D1 attention.
