Thomasville has a scrimmage Wednesday night at their practice field with NE Guilford ( controlled ) also the jv scrimmages Rockingham co. At 6:00 and varsity at 7:00 at reidsville high on Friday night. Both are 60 minutes running clock. As for central’s double wing the Dogs’ 390 pound nose guard will get some good action

The doublewing is hard to prepare for in a week, let alone at a scrimmage with no warning. Not saying Central is going to blow the doors off this year, but they will have a fighting chance depending on their defense.

They don't have the killer talent like the 2010-2012 teams had but they will play everyone harder this year and with their #'s way up they won't have to worry about injuries or what not as much.

If they get the pieces in place I see them winning at least between 2-4 games.

We scrimmaged Salisbury yesterday. They will be a solid team this year but I see them between 2-4. Lower maybe if Oak Grove gets going, higher if not and if Ledford had a lower season perhaps.

They were pretty fast and had some size on their line but they need work on the offensive side especially on the line and passing it. D wise their line was really strong but they gave up the pass easy in the secondary. They have a really good running back who I see giving teams fits this year. I don't think they have the talent for a deep run but they would be a solid 2nd round team for someone.

Does anybody know if the Dispatch will be doing a preseason preview of all the Davidson County teams like they usually do every year? I have seen them doing the short article write ups on some of the teams but the preseason preview usually has pictures and invterviews of some of the key players for each team.

And speaking of scrimmages, I went to the jamboree this past Saturday at South Stanly HS. There were 7 or 8 teams there including CCC teams East Davidson, Central Davidson and also Wheatmore.. I was impressed with Central's double wing offense. None of the teams that I watched them scrimmage against could stop their unorthodox offense and they scored several times but granted none of the teams were prepared to play against it.

So far I’ve seen write ups in the Dispatch about Ledford, Oak Grove, North, South, Central and Lexington. I don’t know if they’ll do a special insert like they did in the past. I just get the online version, so I haven’t seen an insert in years. I do like them though. I still have one from my senior year from back in the day!

Battling but low numbers is an issue. Getting tired and with that comes mental mistakes and injury. Offense missing the Cunningham kid bad and defense is not the same without #20 at LB.
