Shelby Lions vs Daniel Lions 14-0 (Central SC) would be a more logical game. There is no benefit for Mallard Creek or any other 4A program in NC. Win or lose you lost. Why bother? Win, and Shelby guys talk about their enrollment, or how they figured out the secret sauce, and they were coming back. Take an L and Shelby guys turn into Nut Job Cult members. This Crazy thread makes no sense. It's embarrassing to what lengths Shelby guys will go, to make themselves relevant with 4A football in NC. There's a reason why I don't comment on the 2A board. I don't care!
I’d pick Shelby this past season and this next season. This would be a solid game for both teams.
The Creek had no interest in playing them when they had an average 6'5" 305 lb Offensive Line, or Outland Trophy winner Jordan Davis with 3 other 300 pounders on the DL. New Staff feels the same way. Play them for what? A fan on a High School board believes it would be a solid game. That's not how it works.

A good game is a good game, that’s how I see it. You act like fans of 2a ball don’t know football. I’m not saying creek should play Shelby, they already play a tough enough schedule though. I mean they could replace the providence game with a Shelby. If creek doesn’t or other nc teams, they should just play the South Carolina teams they seem more willing

That's how you see it. I don't see it that way. Never said anything about 2A fans not knowing football. You can't just make stuff up, because i disagree with your opinion. Your vision is not the vision of a lot of coaches.
Mallard Creeks schedule this past season. Butler, South Pointe, Chambers, Gaffney, Hough. That's a lot of wear and tear on any program. With tougher opponents comes injury's. You have to consider that when making a schedule. Come playoff time your entire teams rehabbing.
mallard creek ducks no one, I know that. Mallard creek really doesn’t need the game. But I think it would be a solid one. I think a kanapolis brown vs Shelby game could be good in the future.
I just don't get why Shelby and Dillon won't play. Been asking this question for the past 5 years. No one knows
If my memory serves me correctly, I'd want to point out that an MC representative remarked something similar in the August-September time frame "The Creek, on the other hand, suffered a lot of losses to other programs. They're still stacked with young men who are willing to take on new challenges. The winner is Creek."

The ONLY reason we post on other boards is when it is important enough to keep the record straight and when topics cross classifications or states as to historical reference to all of NC high school football.
nepsy, you and other Mallard Creek supporters, at the height of Creeks three peat in 13, 14 and 15, far too quickly began to claim Creek as the greatest program in NC history.
Well, we had something to say about that.
And it had nothing to do with any claim that Shelby should be 4A relevant and could beat MC at that point, despite Shelby being on its own 4 year run as Champs.
You and your tough guy 4A gang did not like us calling you to account on the “greatest program” claim, and immediately turned it into a “who could Shelby beat in 4A” debate so as to use your superior pool numbers to shut us up.
It was never about that…and you and your 4A gang know it. So do others that pile on in this nonsense for “ Shelby needs to prove itself versus top 4A” garbage. That includes btango and a moderator who, for whatever reason, choose to play ignorant of the origin of nepsy’s ongoing campaign.
Mallard Creek’s run only lasted three years, and has proven to be single player, single coach dependent. Far from historic. MC wasn’t even the best 4A program in the decade. Wake Forest was.
But nepsy still lives in the past. Disappointed with MC returning to the pack, he lashes out at anyone that journeys on to the 4A board from the other three classifications.
Meanwhile, the Shelby program keeps piling up Championship Titles, regardless of the head coach or a batch of new players.
Shelby Lion, continue your play by play narratives and your good ole boy “where to eat” yuking up. You enjoy that and others enjoy you.
But do not attempt to criticize our posts, as we have far more decades of investment than you, in the Golden Lions, both in playing time, relationships with the coaches and players in the distant past and up to today, and support of the program that you can’t even imagine.
We are not alone in that involvement. Other individuals and groups have given much as well.

Happened to Shelby’s ‘17 team. That was a very good Shelby team. Not that great offensively, but the defense was hell! Played a tough ACR team, then South Pointe between rival games, no cupcakes in between. South Pointe was no. 5 in the nation at the time that Shelby played them. Yes, Chopper, they were no.5 in the nation at that time, no embellishing here. Look it up! Anyway, that was a beat up and battered Shelby team, after that stretch of games. They just ran out of gas in the end. Shelby lost to a great Hibriten team, but if my son was healthy, and had his mobility, The “Strive for Five” would have been completed. I stand on that!

The top 5 in 2a that year was crazy. You had hibriten, east Duplin, wrh, Shelby and reidsville. Probably the most balanced east and west in years.
But, you’re posting on a 2A board. What do you do, just lurk like hell? You saw, “Mallard Creek”, then came out of lurking? I can count the number of times on one hand that I have been in the 1A and 4A forums. 3A, because Shelby has rivals there.

Yes! The Red Raiders of South Point were good, too, very good. Great balance indeed that year. I saw a while back in a thread, where you and a WRH poster were talking, and he said, Shelby wasn’t a top 5 2A team that year. I just shook my head, because he had no idea, but he’s entitled to his opinion. You will find when a Shelby or a Reidsville loses, the fall from grace is something serious. Look at all the Shelby doubters that we saw after the Spring. I never saw so much disrespect for Shelby. Hendersonville talked big trash, and you had posters swearing such and such would blow us out. You would have thought Shelby was a washed up program.
Yeah, I forgot South point. I think Reidsville will deal with it this fall some as well. Even in the spring season Shelby still almost made it to states. They weren't really a bad team. I told you flippen would at least get him one vs you guys. And yeah titus is a good qb, I said he maybe the most underrated qb we've had.

Sounds like you have anger issues like nepsy. We chose to take it easy on you, out of respect for all who call themselves Golden Lions fans, and we still will, in light of the season and our recent Championship Title.
We liked it better the way it used to be, also. Let reputations speak for themselves. No promotion needed or desired. But you and any of the supposed haters you cite are living in the past.
If you don’t speak up in this social media age, you get run over, left out, misrepresented, and ignored.

Do you really think the level of awareness of Shelby High Football in this state and beyond has occurred due to the efforts of the staffs at the NCHSAA, the Charlotte Observer, ncpreps,
or others with absolutely no ties to Shelby or the program?
We can assure you it has not, and on occasion Shelby’s success has been smeared, marginalized, and wholly represented inaccurately.
Proper recognition has occurred because of ourselves and many others that refuse to sit back, satisfied to just talk friendly about dinner, and demand factually accurate information about the most successful program in the State.
You may be tired of hearing it, but many others are just now joining this site, reading local coverage about the Golden Lions, and wanting to know more.
And others will continue to claim they have what truly belongs only to the Golden Lions.
We will always continue to provide that foundation, whether you and others like you like it or not.
Now go back in your cave, work on your play by play, especially since you do not even attend most of the games, and find something to eat.

I've never been to a game in person, but I have seen a number of films. Shelby is all I ever hear everywhere I go, even if I don't bring up CLASS level in the conversation.
