Look out murphy

I don't understand why all the Rville posters keep bring up the EC you guys have clearly beat Murphy 3 times in a row including the playoff win why in the hell does it matter how many students attend the EC from Murphy? It's not couch gentry's nor the players fault that we are 1a you guys always have an excuse if murphy wins. Clearly Rville is the best team in SMC for the last 2 years and next year who knows they might be again so why come on here and talk about EC numbers when it;s so irrelevant to what's going on now.

Would someone please e-mail Jesse Ventura? Maybe he can do a segment on conspiracy theories to resolve this never ending saga.......

"All the Rville posters keep bringing up the EC??????????? There are only 2 Rville posters on this thread, me and BK. I have not said anything about EC in 3 years - feel free to check my posts. I agreed with PolkHeels spot-on synopsis - THAT'S IT !!! If you will read the thread you will see that Sam the Man of Hayesville brought up Murphy's numbers - Fourth and Inches agreed with Sam and BK (he is not a Rville poster). I happen to agree that it gives advantages to schools (that are in districts that have the early college option) if they are close to going into a higher classification - Is it only Murphy? - No it's not - as PolkHeel said it is NOW done all across the state. I am not harping on this point - I certainly have my opinion on the subject, but I don't get on here to argue with you and the rest of the MurGentrphy fanatics.

Ok this song and dance is getting old, let's change the subject. BK let's talk about, (oh I don't know) swain transfers we have heard that one in awhile, you start and we will chime in.
No worries SMCtrain, Swain recruitment efforts are down this year. LOLOLOLOL

I know people get tired of hearing about this year after year but Sam and BK are absolutely correct. Murphy is running and has been running one of the biggest shams in high school football with the Early College. As BK pointed out above Murphy would be playing with the Big Dawgs (pun intended) almost every year if they didn't write off enough kids to the EC, that is a fact no way around it. As for the other schools that send kids to the EC there is no argument because even with those kids they still would not even be close to having 1AA numbers. Let's also not forget that Murphy High attracts students from all over Cherokee County (Hiawassee Dam, etc. that want to play football since they don't have a team). It is what it is, and they have found a loophole as someone above pointed out. The real fact of the matter is I hope they have enjoyed it while it has lasted because me thinks them Bulldogs will be moving up to another division here real soon!!! :D
A division that is nowhere near as tough as it used to be when the likes of Albemarle and Thomasville dominated it in the early to mid 2000s. Me thinks them bulldogs will be just fine! The sad part for you and sam is that even if Murphy moves up it won't benefit Hayesville one bit! Even if they manage to have a team good enough to win the 1a title they will still find a way to screw it up (2002 Elkin and 2003 Roman, anyone?) lol!

Not all Rville posters harp on this xking. It's mostly BK, with all his "theories". The way I see it is that it does maybe provide somewhat of an advantage to a bubble school like Franklin or Murphy but there is nothing anyone can do about it. And I have no idea why BK won't just drop it and shut up about something that's been going on for a decade it seems like, including all the Hayesville faithful. It is what it is and there's nothing anyone can do about it. thats just my opinion on the whole thing. it's clearly something that everyone is getting tired of reading on here

And no one from rville needs to be saying anything anyhow, Murphy has been a non factor to us the past two years.

Some people are completely delusional….I have tried to refrain from commenting on the EC and enrollment theories some people claim that Murphy somehow pulls off….Here are a few FACTS for your pea brains to try to grasp and comprehend. As stated before the EC is a SEPARATE school, it has its own administration, and it has its own funding. Therefore, can SOMEONE tell me why this is a reoccurring topic of conversation among several posters? It is NOT logical nor makes any sense to count students in your enrollment that DO NOT ATTEND your school. I feel like, essentially you are saying that Murphy should count HD students in their enrollment too, because sometimes a student that lives in that district will go to Murphy to play football. I’ve never understood why you select number of people try to make this an issue every year. Another point I want to TRY to make is this. Anyone that knows anything about enrollment or ADM’s knows that these numbers can not be manipulated as easily as you some people claim. There would have to be a major conspiracy COUNTY wide involving all the schools ( Murphy, HD, Andrews), the central office staff, superintendent, and school board to manipulate enrollment numbers as you guys claim. The fact is Murphy has or is doing NOTHING wrong. They are counting the students for their ADM’s that attend Murphy High School, which is exactly what they are supposed to do. The do not and should not have to count student who attend the EC because those students do not attend Murphy High. I do not understand why that is so hard to understand???

Also, the number of students a school has (Murphy) is ONLY an issue for Football….Why don’t you guys cry about how much “bigger” Murphy is than you guys in other sports? Maybe it is because Murphy doesn’t always dominate other sports like they typically do year in and year out in football, therefore you guys don’t need an excuse or reason to complain about losing to Murphy in other sports. The fact of the matter is, in 1A schools, no matter how big or small, you do not have the capacity or luxury of building a program to compete on a Sate level every year. Talent and good players come in waves; it’s what coaches do to make the most of the talent that they have to determine success. Coach Gentry and his staff have always done an amazing job of getting the most out of players.

Does the EC school have any sports programs? If not, can the students play sports at any other school? I'm not trying to stir the pot, I really don't know.

Let me make it clear that I could care less about the EC issue. I don't even think about it ! But correct me if I'm wrong, you are saying that Murphy HS counts the numbers of potential students and they make sure they send enough students over to the EC to keep their ADM numbers down low enough to stay in the 1A division. Is that what everyone is saying.

That is what some people think. They think Murphy looks at their ADM's and then moves students to the EC or manipulates the numbers so their ADM's are low enough for 1A. Which anyone that knows anything about the ADM's knows that this is not possible without some sort of major conspiracy.

Not all the Hayesville faithful go-go, I understand how the EC works and whether anyone likes it or not it is here to stay.

You boys remember the Serenity Prayer?..

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And Wisdom always to tell the difference.

When your coaching historical arc spans six decades...think about which issues require serenity, which require courage, and which require wisdom.

Things are about to change!! FACT: there will be fewer 1A schools in the future. Instead of 25% of all high schools being 1A, there will only be 20%. 5% of the current 1A schools will move up to 2A ( they will now have 30% 2A instead of 25%). Don't have a clue how this will affect the SMC, but it is going to happen all across this state!!

Happy Trails............

Absolutly beautiful effort from the Murphy Bulldogs. 54-7 after 3 quarters and a running clock.

Never said anything about Hayesville defense. Just thought he has some speed and made 3 decent runs in 4th qt. Just made an observation. No more, no less

I have to say that was probably the worst defense I have seen all year against the dogs they didn't even shift for TE trade outside was wide open all night and for that matter so was the inside. Did they have film?
Who knows if film is watched, I made a remark about defensive coach a while back about where he learned about coaching defense lately, I think some thought I was joking. Well, does anyone still think it's a joke?

Also for some reason some of the coaching staff and powers that be think and are outspoken about Hayesville having a good football team in a few years, we'll just because a group of kids won the midget cracker bowl. Some have completely counted out the current varsity players, I think they forget these same kids, sophomores, juniors and seniors were at every youth playoff contending for a shot at the cracker bowl, I've heard that for years now, about rebuilding Hayesville will be good in a few years, I say if the right leadership is not put in then Hayesville might as well turn that football field into a real nice soccer field, I think Hayesville could dominate at soccer if the athletes played in the fall. Soccer is getting pretty popular, all the kids love the soccer coach, great guy cares about the kids.

Mctaggert ran very well when he was in there. He has good speed and runs hard. Done very well on JV team and will be a good option in relieving McRae in the future. He may be a better linebacker. All in all a good player. I hate my son didn't dress out last night. We had a little incident on the highway that left him with a mild concussion and he couldn't play last night. He's fine now and we'll see how much time he'll get at Swain

hearing some good things about your boy Mbulldog, has a little Braswell to his game :)

Maybe a little like Braswell. He's fast but still learning. He's really only had 6 games of experience running the ball. He has a lot to learn. It's one thing to run in JV and another to do it how Coach Gentry wants...he's learning

Hayesville seems to be the old coaches retirement home. Perhaps Spurrier will come to Clay County. Jackets a few years ago had a good young staff, what happened to them? Only see one left.

Your right about that, we have the young guy that graduated from Murphy, he seems to be pretty good and wants to win, not sure what the goal is for the retired coaches or the ones that make the decision to hire them.
