For all those people who say this isn’t a rivalry because of the 31 year streak, you obviously haven’t been there. Many games just like this one down to the wire where Richlands could taste the victory, only to have it snatched away at the end. Second time in the last 5 years that the cell phones were out after halftime to call a town meeting for the huge Super Bowl win party, only to be denied once again. Most passionate rivalry in the area, by far.

The Wildcat fans were delirious when they scored to “win” with 40 seconds to go. The former Stallions (players and coaches) who defected to Richlands and took their knowledge with them to come up with this great game plan we’re dancing up and down the sidelines, until that dagger by the Stallions to win the game and end the dance. Once again, hays off the the Wildcat players who played their guts out to try to win their Super Bowl.

Lastly, hats off to those tough Southwest kids and Coach Dempsey and all of our coaches. The Stallion players NEVER quit and even though every time we got it together was met with more adversity, they never got down and somehow found a way to win. Chubbs got them together and was a leader, as always. Sophomore QB Moore grew up tonight with huge plays at the end!! Jarek Foster, we love you brother and get get well soon. GREAT GAME!!! SWO, baby!!!

Man, what a game to go too. The only other time I went and saw Richlands play them was about 15 years ago when they both were undefeated. Southwest killed them. For anybody that says this is not a rivalry game, they need to go see it. Jacksonville games are not even that packed. I really felt for that Richlands crowd, and honestly was interested to see how they were going to react if they won. Small Town Football at its best.
