I heard that High Point Andrews has started the interview process. Is there any news on who applied? Are there any front runners or coaches who would be the best fit?
Lol Mike McCarthy may not run the football enough for AndrewsHeard Mike McCarthy is available
I would like to see these guys get back rolling again
TWA is a winnable situation with the athletes they have and size. HPC may be a lost cause as it is on the verge of not even having a team from the troubles they have had the last many seasons. No JV, small varsity and the kids interested in everything but playing football and sports.Really no reason all of High Point football is bad
Andrew, Central, SW Guilford, and Ragsdale... It's bad right nowReally no reason all of High Point football is bad

Hate to see what has become of HPC. I don't get it. They were a perennial powerhouse back in the day when Gary Whitman was the coach winning state titles and had some real talent. I just don't understand how they can go from that to where they are now. They are an embarrassment at this point. And they are a 4A school. We are not talking about a 1A school with 250 students. I don't know HPC exact enrollment numbers. But seems like there is no reason they can't get 50-60 kids out willing to work, put in the effort and play football.TWA is a winnable situation with the athletes they have and size. Little inside birdie told me that Andrews has their guy…. Former ACC college player and won some hardware while playing high school football in Guilford county.
TWA like many city schools faces severe poverty issues. That tends to put kids in a bind to make bad decisions, have to work or do other things not so productive. A school/classroom environment that is not very pleasant to work in makes it hard to keep staff and the students tend to rule the school. Coaches need to be in the hallways, recruiting, watching grades, checking attendance and maintaining good discipline. TWA is a totally different school from when Whitman was there. I thought the coach they had did a pretty good job with the kids and the teams he had. TWA could be great again in football, basketball, track and wrestling, but the culture that has arisen within the walls of that hallowed school and in the community surrounding it will have to change and that may never happen at this point. They have had some great HOF coaches in that building but right now nobody matches up to those folks that kept TWA a powerhouse in many sports, especially football and wrestling for a long time.Hate to see what has become of HPC.
