We play our game...we win jus that simple. Might sound arrogant but if we play our game no 1 in the state can beat us....simple.I don't think Vance needs to score much to win. They need to win the field position game. The need to hold Hough deep so when the punt they are getting the ball in a position where they (Vance) is not punting if they turn the ball over on downs but going for it on fourth. Hough's specialist are strong, Vance's are not.
Vance has to cut out the mistakes on offense. They cannot be sloppy. Will be interesting.
In a tight defensive football game that Hough punter is a HUGE advantage. Then couple it with the fact that Vance really struggles with special teams( coverage and kicking) it puts alot of pressure to play a perfect game in the other 2 segments. Little worried about Grier as well. Hasn't looked sharp throwing it.I don't think Vance needs to score much to win. They need to win the field position game. Vance had problems with their kicking game against AK. They couldn’t flip the field. Gave AK great field position the entire game. Grier was under throwing, and over throwing receivers. They’re due for a complete game this week. They had guys out on the OL & DL. They’ll be returning. Expecting a great game.Hopefully Vance has tightened up on special teams. That was obviously the difference from the first matchup. I picked Hough in my bracket though
“The Hump” it’s real. Vance got over it with Creek but quietly Hough was stalking Vance. Hough has won the last two meetings last years blowout of Vance and this years game. Hough is at home and has Neal who is to this team what Echols was to Vance last year “Energy” that raises others level. All of the matchups are equal except special teams which goes to Hough. You don’t fix bad special teams in one week. Hough 24-14.Tough Pick here but
For Vance: Gotta clean up the mistakes and Gotta play better on special teams. Grier weather u think he good or not - He can make plays and he has to play well. Gotta play discipline football for Vance if they wanna win
For Hough: They have proven they are for real and They played very well in game 1 but Can they get it done Where it matters and history has shown they haven’t, But Hough has the ability to win this game but they have to keep Vance making mistakes like they did in game 1.
Hough 26
Vance 29 (OT)
Correction from Hough Twitter Page; Football Tickets will be available at 6AM on Friday Morning via the Varsity Tix APPIs there some magical formula to getting a ticket to this game?
I think the culture was fine. Vance made adjustments on Defense from the first game. The pressure packages were a lot more varied. Twist during run downs and delayed blitzes coming off pre snap line calls by the Hough OL. Vance DC called a great game. Smothers is a beast and made two runs that only he could have made on that field Friday night.....those two plays which one was on 3rd and 1 were the difference in the game. Hough got a little pass happy instead of taking the 2-3 yard runs that were available early to wear down that Vance front. Two pretty evenly matched teams. Good win for Vance.....Hough, once again, can’t get it done. Can’t recruit culture.
They've been trying for over 7 years now. It's difficult to establish a culture that can finish, when all your guys just met last week. Eventually you have to develop the kids that have been with the program. Their current formula's not working. Can never win the one that counts. Or you can get back on the road to Fayetteville, South Carolina, local camps and working the phones to surrounding schools for talent. Maybe next years new class.Hough, once again, can’t get it done. Can’t recruit culture.
I agree with everything you said : Just here what I would add : Both teams had left points on the field which is crazy to think but I will say Hough play well but They are the ones who missed their changes - 2 Big over thrown passes which could of lead to TDs. DL didnt dominate as Vance changed the game plan n Hough didnt get much pressure on Grier this time around. Hough got WORN out imo in 4th QTR n Hough had like 2 INT in 4th which really seal the DEAL for VanceBoth teams have a ton of talent. Young talent as well. Both schools are gonna be a problem for the rest of the state for awhile. It's scary to think that it's a real possibility that Drake Maye, Evan Pryor and Power Echols could have been on that field last night.
Thought the OC played right into Hacketts hand last night especially in the 1st half. He just dares you to beat him through the air. Plays 1 over the top and press. 7- 8 guys in the box all coming from different spots. They got beat over the top once or twice but they got home way more often and got HUGE negative plays and turnovers. His D dictates the play. Pearce and #9 are unblockable. #10 adds 25 lbs and he is a 5 star. Crazy get off and length.
Vance offense isn't great but if you get it in Hollywood's hands enough he is gonna break a couple. Grier played much better. Those swing passes out of the backfield are a nice fit for him. Actually he had a deck amount of drops yesterday including a TD on the first drive.
The game I really want to see is Butler - Vance. Hales against Hackett would be fun.
Well the coach, recruiter,AD is gone to the private ranks now.... interesting to see can they keep it up since he's gone??They've been trying for over 7 years now. Yeap lost their recruiting coordinator to CCD. Love the family type atmosphere at Vance. High energy team. Hollywood is my guy! Right now Coach Ferebee is the best coach/game manager out. He just gameplans at a super high level. #4, #9, for Vance stand out. #10 is a 5 star player. #3 is a 5 star player. #21 is a baller too. #5 a baller. Vance is loaded, but they play as a TEAM> # 8, #6 underrated but make the team go. Just a fun team to watch and root for.Well the coach, recruiter,AD is gone to the private ranks now.... interesting to see can they keep it up since he's gone??
Cam Kromah over at kannapolis is a kid I was looking forward to developing in this offense. Unfortunately his dad got impatient n bounced. Grier has did a great job and his intelligence and clutch gene especially in the playoffs is a hard talent to duplicate. Both teams have a ton of talent. Young talent as well. Man I really liked that kid. Dad was a lil overzealous but hey he's jus looking out for the best interest of his kid.Well Tbh I think Cam has done very well at Kannapolis- He makes Kannapolis a Title threat but Ofc I don’t think Kannapolis is at Vance level but They are very solid team!
I think he could of done many great things at Vance but I think he has really grown n became a great leader n player at KTownMan I really liked that kid. Dad was a lil overzealous but hey he's jus looking out for the best interest of his kid.
