When does anyone start doing bracket predictions? I'd like to see some 1A love haha.
I'd like to know how Polk Co would be seeded. They are the only 1A team in their split conference. Any ideas?
Appreciate the information. Just to make sure I understand, is Polk Co not able to be seeded as a 1 since they are the only team? Meaning they can only fall into wild card range?Since they are the only one in that division that is 1A, and based on their current record/standing, they would be seeded via RPI after all conference champs are seeded.
EDIT: Adding that fact that all automatic qualifiers will be "in" and then the rest of the field is selected based on RPI. So if they are not high enough in RPI they may not even get in the playoffs.
EDIT 2: Brackets probably won't be predicted until halfway or more through conference games. With baseball being an every night sport, meaning more than likely someone is playing every night, you could see RPI moving constantly, causing brackets to change on an daily if not hourly basis until end of season.
No, they would not, as they are the only 1A team from that conference. From NCHSAA "The highest finishing team from a given classification in a split conference will automatically qualify, regardless of overall conference finish (minimum of 2 schools per classification) "Appreciate the information. Gotcha. Thank you.No, they would not, as they are the only 1A team from that conference. From NCHSAA "The highest finishing team from a given classification in a split conference will automatically qualify, regardless of overall conference finish (minimum of 2 schools per classification) "
I believe that was added a few years ago as teams were getting upset (at least in football) that some schools would be seeded as a #1 with a 2-8 record because they would be the only team in their conference that was in their respective division.
Gotcha. Thank you.

Ok thank you. I didn't know the leapfrog rule still existed. As of right now, this is what I see. The first 10 are the current conference leaders and Polk is currently at 17. I didn't have time to see if any of the teams would be affected by the leapfrog rule, but that only applies to getting into the playoffs, not seeding. Also, that normally is only an issue towards the last couple spots of the bracket.

West lost to Reagan 8-4 but next night shutout Forbush 11-0WS has a real good team, I saw them beat a good West Forsyth team. Good luck the rest of the season. Two years in a row in beating WF.
