Mideastern 3A/4A standings after the first round of conference play. Listed beside the record is the strength of schedule.

Ashley 13-1 6-1 11.7
Laney 8-4 6-1 9.3
New Hanover 8-4 4-3 11.6
Topsail 9-5 4-3 11.2
N Brunswick 6-7 3-4 9.6
Hoggard 5-9 2-5 11.3
S Brunswick 4-9 2-5 12.7
W Brunswick 4-9 1-6 9.9

Ashley has been winning all their games until last night but IMO hasn’t played up to their potential yet.

Laney may be the team that wins this conference. They have 2 very nice pitchers and are starting to play well after a slow start.

New Hanover has the pitching and plays solid defense. If they hit they are tough.

Topsail is not playing to my expectations but they are traditionally a tough team and I expect them to finish strong.

Hoggard seems to be down this year after losing a ton of seniors from last year.

Aside from Ashley and Laney, the conference is beating up on itself.
