With HPA announcing their new head coach a couple weeks ago does anyone have any insight on the HPC coaching search? Have they started the interview process yet? Any rumors?

Whoever the new coach is will have their hands very full and a monumental rebuilding job. HPC football has become an embarrassment and utterly uncompetitive. Their teams of the 90s winning state titles under Gary Whitman are long gone. A shame how far the Bison have fallen. It is baffling how a large school like this cannot field even a modestly competitive team.

Andrews and HP Central ? They can't keep a HC and the programs have hit rock bottom. How can a city like High Point be that bad in football? I have no idea.

And they lost big to some really bad programs also.

Wow. Those scores are shocking. What is the problem with this program?

I know a few coaches that have been there more recently and left. They told me it was the overall interest in the program, lack of on campus coaches, discipline/attendance issues, low numbers and kids looking to do things other than play sports. Those conditions/issues kill sports programs fast and are hitting schools all across the state. They have had some really strong teams in the past but of recent have struggled for sure to make a comeback. I saw them scrimmage last season and was shocked they only had enough kids to barely field a varsity.
