Havelock came into Elizabeth City once again and absolutely embarrassed our Northeastern 🦅. Once the Rams shook off the first game jitters and got settled in after that long bus ride they put on a clinic. They were by far the better team tonight. They made it look easy against the Eagles. NE can make zero excuses, everyone was healthy this year and we had a lot of our key players back. I’m not writing the season off but it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if we were left out of the playoff field. For this Eagle fan this much anticipated matchup was hard to watch. 3 takeaways- why are we not throwing to #1 Jordan Jones? Kaveon Freshwater and #51 Jameson Fletcher are straight up ballers, they are going to be stars, thank heavens Jameson has finally gotten his time to shine. He was in beast mode💯 tonight. Our announcer tonight was great!!! Loved how he interacted and included the Havelock fans when he was talking. Awesome Job, you were the main reason this Eagle 🦅 fan stayed as long as he did.
I agree with Premier about Havelock...looks like a Championship caliber team already. NE should bounce back in 2A however they need some work. Hard to gauge the rainfall on facebook but it looked like the 2nd half it was coming down a little harder. 18-15 Havelock at half but then the wheels fell off for NE. A pick six, a scoop and score on a backward pass, a muffed punt and a couple of blown coverages. All in all they looked liked they had the same size and speed as last year...time will tell. Havelock is gonna do that to a few folks this year.
Wouldnt dwell on it too much first game of the year and its Havelock outside of Shelby they would probably beat most top 2A teams just as bad. They beat yall last year and you still ended up playing on State Championship Saturday. I still expext NE to be a load to deal with come playoff time.

Again NE coach chocked before half. Went for 4th down on his own 30? Didnt convert, havelock to the house few seconds later. Really turned the game
Dark horse I don’t think we’ll make the playoffs. We looked very bad with the exception of juniors Freshwater and Fletcher. We’re in trouble and could easily start the season out 0-3. @Holmes-@Hertford County
The Eagles will be fine like last year y’all had a mideason drppping 3 games in a row but you bounced back and won 8 straight. Y’all will be in the hunt deep in the eastern bracket
Don't forget, only 8 teams from East will make the playoffs this year. And all seedings will be done by blind draw. Any team that does not win its conference championship will have a tough time making the playoffs.
It did get ugly eventually, but I hope people don't let that score fool them. NE is a good team, very physical, hell our boys are all sore this morning and thats coming from they mouth not mines. They will go deep, Havelock is just like that shit year, and will get better as the season goes. We really needed that game tho bcuz our conference is horrible this year, so thank you NE for even p
He broke off one for 30 or so, only had 8 or 9 carries as he had to play some db last night due to injuries in the secondary
I’ll have to disagree with you. We dropped three straight because we were banged up and missing key players. I keep it real, I’m not going to blow smoke and talk trash like other NE posters in the past years. I’m not that guy

That’s correct, what I’m saying is that the NE team that played last night looked lost and they gave up with still 15 mins to go. I’ve never seen a NE team do that. One thing Coach Moore does good aside from coaching is motivate his players. He is the best I’ve ever seen at that. Last night the Eagles just gave up. Nobody here saw this shellacking coming, not with all that talent we had returning.
Bro its only been one game and its not like you lost to some scrub team. Even with the shortened season its alot of football left to be played.
I'm a northeastern poster but you also have to look at it how much practice have they had together they still playing basketball they won last night so they play Farmville Central this week I don't see a lot of practice this week so you could be right we could start out 0-3 but at the same time eat it ain't no Havelock and Hertford county ain't no Havelock
At the end of the day going into the second half it started raining even harder and yes I must say it bad coaching why are you throwing the ball backwards what are you going for it on 4th down in your own territory...... If I'm not mistaken the pic 6 came from the backup quarterback on his first snap yeah they did give up I never seen a northeastern team give up
It doesn't happen often. But when it happens to your team,it's ugly to watch
