Grimsley vs Hough 12/6 Rd 4

For years I mean about 8 lol
From 2000 to 2016, Dudley is 14-3 against Grimsley.

From 2016-2021, Grimsley hasn't wanted anything to do with Dudley.....
Of course the past 3 years, its easy to say it Dudley doesn't want smoke, but its been Grimsley who ducked out after 2016.... and just now is acting like the past 60 years never happened...

This ain’t 2000- 2016 though. Dudley knows they’d get the work the past few years, and especially this year. Big difference between the top of 3A and 4A. To get back on topic can anyone give insight into Hough and biggest strengths and weaknesses, I’ve got a good idea but want to hear it from people who have seen them play in person

Especially this year? I’m not so sure about that one. Wasn’t Grimsley just tied 21-21 with Southeast a weeks ago before pulling away? Dudley beat them 49-0.
Hough’s biggest strengths? It’s hard to choose just one. Their interior offensive line is very strong. All five starters are but the middle is where they have an advantage on Grimsley. Their speed and physicality on defense is also a strength. Very solid running game with three very good wideouts this year, I really like number 7. 7 is a do it all play maker and Evans number 8 is their big tall deep threat. I think the balance of their offense this year will get them over the hump.

Played them twice. Throwing and getting them out the box would be your best opportunity. Definitely got to mix it up on the offensive side. If they figure out you can't stop the run, they will RPO you all the way down the field. O Line is really big, but not very mobile. Stunts on the DL and make them find the blocks. None of this will work if you don't have the Jimmy & Joe's. Northwestern (Rock Hill) had a really good game mixing it up against them.

To be fair Grimsley beat southeast 49-0 the first matchup and then scored 37 unanswered after the tied it up so I think that was just a case of playing twice..I see your point though. Yeah this hough team seems like a monster, and they seem determined to beat Grimsley this time. I think the winner of this game wins the State Championship

Right now, I'd make Hough the favorite for the state title.

They’re going to score some points then. I think Brandon is the key to the game. He’s been coasting all year but can go off at anytime, he hasn’t had to do much. If the G opens it up with the pass game it’s all going to fall on how he plays

The Page guy bringing up stats from 20-60 years ago sounds like me arguing with my Duke and UNC buddies about Kentucky basketball titles from 50 years ago. Who gives a crap about how “historically good” you’ve been when you stink now

Dudley game would be big on gate receipts, but bad for RPI. Check out Dudley’s opponents and opponents’ opponents winning % - both are below 50%. Even a win over Dudley would be detrimental to Grimsley RPI. Home field advantage is big and one Hough fans would certainly remember from the past two years. Simmons ratings has Grimsley by one. Sounds about right and only if Hough can stop Mitchell Summers which they have so far proven unable to do.

49-7 in the first match up but playing a team twice is difficult.
I’ve seen both Hough and Grimsley and I really believe Hough is better. The only way they lose is if they make mistakes, get out coached or just fall apart like they’ve been doing in the playoffs in previous years. Going by the eye test though Hough should win this game. I think Hough’s offensive line will dominate Grimsley’s defensive line, outside of Bryce Davis.

I don’t disagree with you at all, I really think Hough has been circling this game all year. They want to beat Grimsley and then finally win it all

Wait... what!? I was only bringing it up because nwguilford guy was trying to say Dudley doesn't want smoke... when in fact it was Grimsley who ducked out of the smoke back in 2016. I was only backing up my argument with the historical facts/stats.

All good, man I just like giving page a hard time when I can

Only game Hough lost to was RH Northwestern 45-44. Hough had a good lead but gave the lead up. RH Northwestern is still in the playoffs in the 5A Div 2 bracket and they will take on Gaffney tomorrow night as well. RH Northwestern is 12-0.

I've seen the B-Flys play. Very physical!!
The Charlotte Observer used to hang around Butter Fly Stadium back in the day, especially the year the B-Flys led the state in penalty yardage. Heaven forbid you got knocked out of bounds on their sideline, with their taunting with the one fanger salutes. The main thing i remember about B Fly Stadium was their promotion to win a new Honder vehicle. If your lucky number was called , you had to stand on one twenty yard line and throw the football through the uprights a mere ninety yards away. When everyone figured out nobody could accomplish this feat, they put a pea green Pinto at the fifty yard line at halftime. Mister Honder had had a few drinks that evening, and after clearing it with the Charlotte Police, it was determined Mister Honder could drive a few yards on the field without acquiring a DUI. So he gets in the Honder and rams the Pinto and of course it explodes all to hell, but nobody was injured and it appeared to sober up Mister Honder a bit . They'd do shat like this to take away from their plethora of penalties.

Im jus here to see "Hough be Hough" and screw this up!! Maybe me being back is the kiss of death for them. We all know Hough will screw this up!! Maybe with Jenkins gone they may break thru...but im not confident.
HOUGH WILL ALWAYS BE HOUGH UNTIL PROVEN OTHERWISE!!

And yes it is the real me..im back...for now

My Prediction Grimsley 35 Hough 21... setting up the showdown in the Triad between East Forsyth(my other prediction) and Grimsley.
i see CPC is still CPC. im surprised hes still here. usually his conference is out the playoffs and hes gone fishing lol

I have a question. Since Grimsley is close to Dudley how come they don’t play each other. Didn’t realize they were close to each other until now.
