I said this in a earlier post, but glad Page and Reidsville finally get to tango, regardless of classification quality opponents are what Page wants on the non conference schedule and this is right up that alley.
Some thoughts on the game, Page is young and still in rebuilding mode after some poor form derived from the prior coach. Now year 2 with coach Robertson and Page is back on the up and up. The kids are playing with intensity again and giving it their all. The culture restored. Page is competing again but they are not content with just trying to compete of course, they want to win the games. They just played a neighboring rival tough at Dudley, and while I was pleased with the effort showed, It's still a bit early.. so execution wasn't the best on Friday, but I fully expect coach and the guys to clean things up this week in practice and have the horses ready to run.
I heard that Reidsville is a bit young as well, but the Rams probably have a bit more experience and savvy with big games. No doubt Reidsville is the favorite in this one and while in the past Page usually can wear down smaller teams numbers wise, Page doesn't have that luxury, yet.. numbers aren't has high yet and the depth Page usually had in the past needs to be built back up, so don't expect Page to be able to dominate in the 2nd half like they used to be able to say 4 or 5 years ago. Page does have some good size and speed across the board, im very interested to hear about how they might match up against the Rams. What does Reidsville have up front this year on both sides of the ball?
Rams could get Turner back at LG this Friday. He is a Freshman but a good one.Reidsville offensive line is still a work in progress, they did play well against western alamance.
Reidsville offensive line has been good with size from 2016 to this past spring season. We have one starter back from the line, so we are a little smaller than usual. The defensive line is solid though, we have a freshman starting at dt, he's small but a good player, will likely play linebacker next season.
We are missing our best defensive player a olb, who should be back by october.
They also play a lot of golf together in Reidsville.Cool little fact about this match up Coach Teague's and Coach Robertson's families get together every Sunday and share a meal.
Both coaches are interviewed by the Greensboro N&R's Joe Sirera. Robertson and Teague interviews
not a surprise, most of Page's young talent was moved up to varsity.Reidsville jv up 42-0 in the 3rd quarter
