Clinton beat NS by 19 points the first time and they LOST the 2nd time when everyone is in playoff mode.

Playoff mode is different than regular season

Shelby beat NS by 22 in a CHAMPIONSHIP game and they left a TD in the 1st half. To NS credit they played decent pass defense(they have experience because they also run the spread) to slow down the air game. They had a way better pass defense than Clinton(watched a few Clinton games) and still lost.

Based on what I saw, Shelby would have scored 35 on Clinton in the1st half alone. Darkhorse pass defense was weak. They had no answer for the Monarchs not so advanced passing game. Shelby would have torched their 2ndary and Clinton would not have been able to run the ball against them(even the announcers in the NS/Clinton playoff game said Clinton will have to learn that there will be teams that can stop their ground game and that's what happens in the 4th round and title games as they watched darkhorses struggle to run the ball against NS late in the game) and wouldn't have done much better with that novice passing game.

The Monarchs beat the 3 best teams ithrown at them in the east...back to back to back, that's not luck that's a mark of the best team.

100 percent agree with this, Clinton couldn't pull it off when it mattered. but neither could 3 other teams. regardless Clinton had a great year and no one takes a way from that. have a merry Christmas and a happy new year everyone

I'm not look at the record, the rankings throughout the season Sure if you're basing it on the last two weeks of the season sure but I think to be the best you have to look at the whole body of work. Clinton defeated Northside worse than Shelby and certainly worse than ED did but if all you're basing it on is one game so be it

For the last time this Clinton team wasn't anything like the 2014 team. They did pass the ball, they're biggest wins weee won passing the ball. QB was the 1st 1000 yard passer since 2001. Some folks get locked in on stereotype and can't shake it. Actually watch then play
