Wiz, Clinton is a good team, but Clinton would have gotten beat worse than Northside. Northside knows how move the ball fast enough to keep their hopes up if they're behind. This year Clinton did not have the horses or the scheme to come from behind, looking at the potential matchups, and their pass defense was barely making it. Based on what I saw from other teams out east, NS was the best the east offered this season. NS character showed that they are a 2nd half team, meaning 2nd half of the game and 2nd half of the season. They owned the east this year and deserve the right to be called the best team in the east.
96 panther, some folks know hoe to accept victory some don't Most Shelby fans do, all schools have them but I have never seen such regional bias. Oh well.

Exactly how many times did Clinton have to do that this year? If you wish to continue to bash Clinton, go ahead and look foolish but none of the polls bore that out all season, none of the stat polls bore that our, their record didn't show it and just because you saw a limited couple of their games means absolutely nothing. You're biased. You saw what you wanted to see and are now talking out your ass. You need to get out of Cleveland County every once in awhile. A much anticipated all season Clinton vs Shelby match that everyone projected didn't materialize, but now you choose to not only give a outcome but project how well they would have done. Wiz I'm not even in Cleveland county, I'm just as critical of them but I still give credit where credit is due. I always give them a hard time but their team can pretty much wipes the floor with teams from your conference. I thought they couldn't take criticism but you've got them beat typing a whole booklet to show how upset you are. I also find it funny that NOW you're into polls Whenever Clinton is not in the top 10 then you will say polls dont matter. Emotional posters tend to be inconsistent like that I suppose.
Only YOU and some Clinton fans anticipated a Shelby rematch. Shelby posters talked way more about Reidsville and Monroe than Clinton, because they figured whoever came out of the east it wouldnt matter anyway.
Give NS credit where credit is due. they were the best from your region. That 'special' Clinton team you bragged about has not existed since 97 yet you thought this one was it. Also Clinton was not even a top 5 2A team this season in my opinion. You had high stats probably because of that suspect schedule.
Don't know about any of that but no one ever bet against Lion Attack, the last four years he has called almost exactly what would happen in these title games

ACR and Shelby will be playing second week again next year. Coach Laws confirmed that to me earlier this year. We are looking for a week one game though because West Forsyth is no longer available.

I actually never heard those chants and I stayed the whole time. Shelby is a great team, but idc about anyone's opinion we've been hearing all year who we can't beat.
Fun to speculate but why not just be happy with 16-0 ? Incredible football programs and football towns.

My impression from listening to this game was that Northside Jax didnt get Shelby's best game, and that is scary indeed./\ what he said
The Lincolnton game went down to the last 4-5 minutes. That was a close call.
Most experts figured that game was for the state title.
Monroe did that too....you saw what happened to them the next week
They didn't. We could have easily had 2 more scores...a wide open drop on whay would have been a walk in td and an over throw to a wide open Borders in the end zone. Winning by 1 point still gives you the win though.

When we think the run will end just remember how close Shelby was to going to the state with Fuller and that 9-6 team that lost to West Stokes. Exactly....if we would have went for it on 4th and 1 we would have more than likely added another title that year.
Also the year Salisbury kicked the onside kick and it hit their kicker before going 10 yards but the refs gave them the ball. They beat us and went on to win the title 30-0 or something like that.
the first meeting between Northside and Clinton was an awful game on Northsides part and our team improved and improved sure at the beginning of the season Clinton may have been better at that time. But opinions this time of year are based on end result and how the teams progressed. Northside was the best team in the east for our division. Call me biased but I try to be as truthful as possible. Thanks for the praise of our team chopper we look forward to 3A next year
13-1 Clinton was the best team in the east in 2A this year, Northside made a tremendous run at the end but honestly a 10 game set between the two, Clinton wins 8 of them. The best team doesn't always win.
Isn't your O line mostly seniors? How do the underclassmen look? Then again I saw the giant 6'5" 800lb freshmen listed on the roster...nevermind.

I don't understand how you can make that statement with a straight face. The mark of a good team is one that keeps improving thur the season. Northside beat Randleman,
Bunn, Clinton and East Dublin ( all on the road ) to win the east. In order for you to make this statement you have to be the biggest "Homer" in NCPREPS..............
I'm not look at the record, the rankings throughout the season Sure if you're basing it on the last two weeks of the season sure but I think to be the best you have to look at the whole body of work. Clinton defeated Northside worse than Shelby and certainly worse than ED did but if all you're basing it on is one game so be it
Even using the new math they teach in school I don't see how you deduced that.
Clinton beat NS by 19 points the first time and they LOST the 2nd time when everyone is in playoff mode.
Playoff mode is different than regular season
Shelby beat NS by 22 in a CHAMPIONSHIP game and they left a TD in the 1st half. To NS credit they played decent pass defense(they have experience because they also run the spread) to slow down the air game. They had a way better pass defense than Clinton(watched a few Clinton games) and still lost.
Based on what I saw, Shelby would have scored 35 on Clinton in the1st half alone. Darkhorse pass defense was weak. They had no answer for the Monarchs not so advanced passing game. Shelby would have torched their 2ndary and Clinton would not have been able to run the ball against them(even the announcers in the NS/Clinton playoff game said Clinton will have to learn that there will be teams that can stop their ground game and that's what happens in the 4th round and title games as they watched darkhorses struggle to run the ball against NS late in the game) and wouldn't have done much better with that novice passing game.
The Monarchs beat the 3 best teams ithrown at them in the east...back to back to back, that's not luck that's a mark of the best team.
