Edenton @ South Columbus Eastern 2A Finals

Hoping the Stallions can lay down a Royal Flush against the 4 Aces of Edenton. All the ingredients to be a good one!
Will you apologize if the Stallions get ridden and trained like a good horse should? Going to be a good game enjoy it and give credit where credit is do and whoever win be a sport and support the winning team in the final.

Classy post ... no one from SC has said a bad word about any team everyone knows it'll be a dog fight ... may the best team win

Interesting fact--Edenton Holmes and South Columbus played each other in the 4th round of the playoffs this past spring in baseball. Their fans felt like they were coming to the end of the earth when they traveled here but were very nice folks.

Spoke with some people and they said you guy are very proficient with the triple option. Can't wait! Do you guys bring a big fan base? I know it's a long ways out though.

South Columbus should be very familiar with Edenton offense. Previous SC coach was at Richmond with Coach Hoggard and attempted to run that scheme when he came to South. At this stage Jimmys and Joes are pretty equal so it is execution of whatever you run offensively and defensively that wins or loses. Whiteville got a little revenge on Cherryville for baseball loss with playoff football win, can Stallions do the same? I promise to stay away from the light switch!

I like to think the Stallions have an outstanding weight room work ethic too. Anybody thsts seen #40 run the ball this year should be able to speak for that. Should be an outstanding matchup I can't wait!

I watched #40 run the draw plays Friday,he is a boss. U can tell he been in weight room. I feel he will be a game changer this week. Leggett is a force on speed. #7 can break it anytime. SC defense will probably have to play their best game if EH runs this option as reported. Its great to see good football again in county. Whiteville also had a very good year. Looking for one heck of a game this week.

If our offense is clicking, and it has been lately, it is fun to watch even as an opposing fan. The most common comment from opposing fans is "why are we not stopping that? They are running the same play every time!!"

We usually travel well. Northeastern has a sizeable visitor side and that was packed and people were standing along the fence but there is a huge difference between thirty minutes and four and a half hours. My main concern is we have a working class fan base and whether they will be able to get off of work.

Honestly, I believe defense decides this game. No doubt. Both teams have scored high numbers (in the 70's with in the last few weeks) but also have given up just as many points. I'm curious to see how this one turns out scoring wise.

Good luck to the Stallions, haven't seen you guys in awhile
As you gentlemen in Clinton know all to well,it's amazing how much difference a good coach can make. If you go back to the year after Jake Fonveille left to the year coach(I refuse to even say or type his name) last year you will understand where we have been the last few years.

Paul Hoggard is probably the best O Line coach in the state and he has at least four of his former Richmond staff with him at Edenton....they will run that option to perfection..I watched them play a few times at Richmond when my team was not playing...South will have to be extremely disciplined to stop it....not saying they can't but don't take Holmes for granted because you think their offense will be what they tried to do at South....it's not gonna look the same....Coach Dove will have them prepared I'm sure and it will be a great game...good luck to both teams from an outsider

Edenton should travel pretty good. Already know of one bus charter that has been started with maybe another. Looks like it should be good weather! Good luck to both teams!!

I heard they are bring some fans with them because they love their Aces. Are there any nice hotels near the school in case some fans want to spend the night?

North Myrtle Beach SC is 25 minutes away with a lots of hotels and at this time of the year you can get some killer bargains on the waterfront rooms.

I agree with Stallion TD. If you're going to stay go to N Myrtle. No kind of good hotels in the area. When I say area I mean Whiteville, Tabor or Loris. Go to the beach.

We also have several good restaurants in Tabor City. Cubs Subs, Adams Seafood, Dale's Seafood, Coleman's Drive In., Maximes, Friendly's Seafood. We also have Mcdonalds, Subway and Burger King. All are within 10 mins of SCHS.

Good luck to Coach Dove and the Stallions, If you are coming down 701 there are a couple of hotels in Whiteville, 15 min from stadium, would recommend the econo-lodge. Hope to be there.

I think you may get a few Richmond county/Paul Hoggard fans at this game as well. I know at least 1 that will be there.

I hope you'll bring it home. Dont worry about some of these trash delivering bunches talking trash. It's going to happen at this level. If SOUTH doesnt change was is not broke, you'll should walk away with the "W"

Edenton to the State Championship! Looks like SC has a great program. I think the nod for competition goes to Edenton. The teams they have played against have been far better than the SC competition this year. Edenton by 17.

I think this video sums up the best of where south was and where we've fought our way back to and I just believe these guys won't quit no matter what! REFUSE TO LOSE BABY!!! I don't think many people expected south to make it this far, heck you guys from the northeastern conference were even picking Bertie in the first round so how about lets just see what happens Friday night.

That would be me. I admit it. Bertie is where my heart is so I thought with my heart and not my brain. It was an emotional decision. I chose my falcons. However, we did finish 4th in the conference and Edenton finished tied for 1st. Records don't always tell the complete story but I'm sticking with the Aces. I have a relative who plays for them now and Edenton's coach played high school football right here at Bertie. SC is playing really well thought I will admit.

I don't know about Edenton but South Columbus isnt suppose to be here ... Stallions are playing with house money and we're all in....

Turnovers will play a big part in this game.... hopefully we can come out on top going to be a cold one lows in the 20s of nothing changes.

Are you making the trip to SC?

Chipshot it just gets stored in the back of our heads...only people that believe in us are the people in our community. Our guys have improved every week just thank the good Lord for the opportunity to be playing another week. To God be the glory win lose or draw nothing will ever be possible without him.

That's funny that you said that because that's how we always feel up here in Edenton.

So ?...........

South Columbus plays whoever is next on the schedule.....just happens to be Edenton this Friday night....We really don't have to much say on our "competition" through out the season...

Just glad we are playing on "Kill Hill" this Friday night....

You see..... we have earned that right due to our #1 ranking against our lack luster competition in our schedule....

Just found out our kicker Panataleon was involved in a very serious vehicle accident in which the woman that hit him was pronounced dead at the scene. He has serious injuries along with others, keep him and the families involved in your prayers!
