Why you even comment Elkin hasn’t been relevant in over 15 years. Go sell some candyAnd they wonder why people hate MA fans so much.
I agree with you. Credit to EW for a good season and winning a couple of playoff games. In the past, it seems like even when EW had a good regular season they get thumped early on in the playoffs when they run into teams with more speed and athletes. So good for them on winning in the post season and playing after T-giving. But I think they get a reality check against MH. EW has some good teams for NW NC at times. But it seems like they simply don't have the speed, agility and athletes at that school to get super deep in the playoffs.Just looking forward to making the trip up to Burnsville and enjoying the 3rd round. I don't think we've been this deep since 2015 when we lost to Mitchell at home. As scores have shown we are 2 scores behind ma and starmount, I expect the same thing this Friday. However, turnovers can make or break a game. I think we will do better than yall expect but I don't think we have all the pieces to go any further.
As for the NR game I don't know why they ever went away from the running game, they moved it pretty good against us straight up the b and c gap. I watched the heritage hayesville game and seen several plays that NR done against us that heritage was doing as well. Definitely going to have to find a way to stop it.
I dont have a score prediction, but I don't think we lose by more than 20, Unless of course we just turn it over alot.
Where did anybody mention Elkin except you?Why you even comment Elkin hasn’t been relevant in over 15 years. Go sell some candy

Yes, but that is particularly true for teams in NW NC. The exceptions, of course, being MAHS and Starmount. You can say that for most teams that dont get deep in the playoffs
Yes because "all of us Mt Airy fans" really hate any team that is not us! We certainly go out of our way to put down every other team! And they wonder why people hate MA fans so much.
Why pryles we supposed to like you all talking down on us and love you guys in return then you guys don't Yea there is something in water up here something your poor Elks haven't had in yearsAnd they wonder why people hate MA fans so much.
While they have had strong regular seasons, the transition to playoff football can be stark, as the competition tends to be more intense and physically demanding,I agree with you. You are right, and I think Wilkes Co. has 4 high schools even though it is not a huge county in terms of population. Though land wise, it is a larger county. I have wondered how an all star team from Wilkes Co. would do if they pulled the 30 or so of the best players from all four teams. While they have had strong regular seasons, the transition to playoff football can be stark, as the competition tends to be more intense and physically demanding,
Don't know EW that much, but I do know that it will be cold Friday in Burnsville. I think the high that day will be 38 degrees so that will definitely be a key as too who can handle it the best. Keys for heritage is stopping the big play and running the ball.Anyone seen both teams play and can offer some insight or keys to the game?
Cold weather is definitely gonna be a factor in this Friday's games. I'm sure that turnovers will be a factor with itDon't know EW that much, but I do know that it will be cold Friday in Burnsville. They will be a run first team that is perfectly happy taking half a quarter to score. But they do have potential to strike quickly. I would not suggest kicking to 24 in any situation. He has more than 1 return for a td this year. As has been mentioned you will not be impressed looking at the green team in warm ups. They are not very big in stature. But they are very fundamental in there approach to every aspect of the game. If I see one major weakness it is their kicking game.Is MH a quick scoring offense or do they like to drag out long drives? How do they handle defensively if the other team establishes long drives?
EW loves to put together long drives. Against NR coming out from halftime EW used over 7 minutes of game clock on a td drive.

When Heritage played against teams with a size advantage this season, they have showcased the ability to adapt and execute in their game plan effectively. I doubt EW will be able to match that level of execution. Their close calls in previous games might indicate a vulnerability that Heritage could take advantage of.EW looks solid on film some decent size and speed, but there's something about them barely beating Elkin, Allegheny and Wilkes Central that tells me they might be not as good as their record, Heck the NR team they just beat barely beat Cherryville, a lot of the teams we've played have had the size advantage on us and I don't think EW will do what we do better than us in all honesty I think it might be a decent test where the cougs pull away late.
Heck some of those teams with a size advantage got absolutely wrecked like Chase for example no adaption needed lolWhen Heritage played against teams with a size advantage this season, they have showcased the ability to adapt and execute in their game plan effectively. Erwin, Robbinsville, Hendo, Mitchell, Hayesville were all bigger teams and 3 out of five got brleat pretty badI think East
