East Wilkes @ Heritage

Yeah come on prlyles, know the rules. No one can comment on a Green team/EW thread but MA folks. Oops just broke those rules. My bad.

Good luck to both the Green and Red on Friday night. Think it can be a good game. I think some folks are underestimating how he green team’s ability to throw the ball. They just haven’t had to yet but they have some weapons.
Too bad the purple is now using the round ball instead of the football:

Go Mountaineers

Just looking forward to making the trip up to Burnsville and enjoying the 3rd round. I don't think we've been this deep since 2015 when we lost to Mitchell at home. As scores have shown we are 2 scores behind ma and starmount, I expect the same thing this Friday. However, turnovers can make or break a game. I think we will do better than yall expect but I don't think we have all the pieces to go any further.

As for the NR game I don't know why they ever went away from the running game, they moved it pretty good against us straight up the b and c gap. I watched the heritage hayesville game and seen several plays that NR done against us that heritage was doing as well. Definitely going to have to find a way to stop it.

I dont have a score prediction, but I don't think we lose by more than 20, Unless of course we just turn it over alot.
I agree with you. Credit to EW for a good season and winning a couple of playoff games. In the past, it seems like even when EW had a good regular season they get thumped early on in the playoffs when they run into teams with more speed and athletes. So good for them on winning in the post season and playing after T-giving. But I think they get a reality check against MH. EW has some good teams for NW NC at times. But it seems like they simply don't have the speed, agility and athletes at that school to get super deep in the playoffs.

You can say that for most teams that dont get deep in the playoffs

Elkin has 4 titles.. It holds some weight but not much.. it would be the same for women’s sports as well but it’s not… take Wilkes Central for instance.. yearly has more speed than any team you can mention in 1a most years.. but gets beat by good 1a teams perennially. So coaching plays as big a roll as anything in getting said athletes to perform. EW has had a few yrs they could have been 4th round.. maybe deeper.. but shoddy coaching and players defecting to neighboring schools 3 miles away.. won titles with the same ones that you mentioned weren’t athletic enough at EW🤣🤣🤣

And they wonder why people hate MA fans so much.
Yes because "all of us Mt Airy fans" really hate any team that is not us! We certainly go out of our way to put down every other team!
NOT.
Prlyles, do you and about 10 to 15 other a-holes on here have a club that you pay dues to so you can just run off at the mouth all the time with hate-filled crap about Mt Airy? Then see who wins the pot.

I mean, really, you are so sad.

While they have had strong regular seasons, the transition to playoff football can be stark, as the competition tends to be more intense and physically demanding,

You are right, and I think Wilkes Co. has 4 high schools even though it is not a huge county in terms of population. Though land wise, it is a larger county. I have wondered how an all star team from Wilkes Co. would do if they pulled the 30 or so of the best players from all four teams.
