Yes. Yes they did. Really glad to see Burns stand up & get the win. After the teams they've played the last month, I was impressed.

Man you guys have a hell of a ball club. I knew this game was gonna be different than most thought, that's why I started the thread last week. Just had a feeling. Good luck to you boys the next 2 weeks.
We can talk about all the penalties and many other things but at the end of the night we saw two teams battle and it was a hell of a game to watch. One of the best battles I’ve seen in a long time! EG came to play!
You were right and I was wrong ....you said it could be a fight and it was. What a shame any kid had to lose that game. Congrats Dogs ....EG best of luck the rest of the way.
I'm very proud of our team. That last play of regulation was heart breaking. We were completely out of gas in the 2nd OT. Congrats to Burns (you earned that win).
EG has some big boys up front and some hard nose ball players that get after it. They are not going to be a push over for Shelby if they bring the same energy that came to Lawndale. eggar was right last year when he said they were younger but headed the right way.
I could just feel like coming after those last 4 games we had to play. When you go 5 weeks between competitive games stuff like that tends to happen.
This is exactly why I didn’t claim an easy win when I said respect to EG and welcome to Lawndale. Me and BBB had this game on our radar and multiple times mentioned that it could be a fight. I’ve watched EG come alive the last few years. Their team was young and you could see it coming. Much respect to your team and program.
Speaking of that last play, gotta give Ben Mauney a ton of credit. He had 1 shot from 29 yards out. Ball was spot on between double coverage. Hell of a throw. And the catch by LJ Allen. Just an incredible all around play from those two when it had to be made.
East Gaston, you earned my respect. What a game. The refs were terrible but neither team deserved to win. Now I know it’s a 3 team conference.
If I am not mistaken EG is still pretty young....should be a handful over the next couple of years.
Great win for the Dawgs. Unnecessarily fun game to watch. We should have pulled away earlier but East is tough- fought hard/ much respect to them. They had good size, some great athletes, good crowd support and I hated they had to lose, although I would have freaked out had Burns lost. Our QB- “wow” the last pass in regulation- terrific pass, incredible reception. Was hard winding down and going to sleep last night.
I was just thinking 🤔 how if any team has the pieces in place to be competitive - it is so important that they believe they can win. East was especially successful early on in the game. They completed a couple of incredible passes for scores in the first half, and picked up some first downs with some hard running. That built some confidence for them. They believed they could win. Burns did the same. They were challenged time and again but they hung in there. They were supposed to win according to everybody else but they had to step up and take it, they had to believe- and they did it. The guys grew up a notch or 2 last night on both teams. Congratulations to East, you didn’t lose, you came up a hair short. Congrats to the Dogs- you didn’t just win, you became men.
Come on man! Outta one side of your mouth you praise EG, then outta the other side you make excuses. “We should have pulled away early.” “You could feel it coming after the last four games we had to play”. Ya won the game, be thankful. That game could have ended very differently.
I should have won the lottery but I didn't and reamin part of the working poor. Moral victories don't count in the standings good buddy. Sure burns got lucky but that's all why we love this game. I think you guys can be the class of gaston county the next few years.
I'll just leave it at this. East Gaston is going to be an issue for teams the next couple years. So will Burns. This isn't the last time these two will play a game like this.
Why? We completed a TD pass with 1.3 seconds left. This is after returning TD to have it called back. 2nd OT we scored on the first play and stopped EG on 4 straight downs. Burns responded to adversity in every way.

I fear is all the air is out of the balloon for EG, at least coming into this Friday. That loss Friday was tuff. Maybe our kids will respond better than us adults do! Burns beat us and we have to move on. I'm not delusional, Shelby is going to be another level for us Friday. It'll be fun Friday night, we have been down so long that these games are much fun for our community. As for Hill, that kid goes full out all the time and doesn't come off the field (unless he gets carried off). He is big and strong and is usually one of the fastest players on the field.

In the end, we want to see all these young men live there dream, and play on next level..
It’s lost! Take away some of the ridicules penalties and we would have pulled away earlier.
Feels good to have some help around here(side note Cleveland vs Gaston education).
