Time to forget about Kinston and Kanye’s unbelievably night and focus on the biggest game of the year most likely for the conference championship. We didn’t have Kanye last year this year I think he will be the difference maker. WRH 45 ED 28. Thoughts and predictions

I think more like 35-28 dogs cause of the Battle factor. ED will use clock to keep dogs offense off the field. He will try to limit our possessions with ball control and throw a few wrinkles just like in 17 when we had Javonte. I t is now for the conference championship and I know both teams will be ready. Go Dogs!

This will be a tough game. The panthers have found a way to get the upper hand the last few years. If the dogs come in intense and discipline this could be the night they regain all swagger.

I think this one shapes up to be another classic. The Dogs average better than 14 yards per play on offense so there is no doubt that ED will want to control the ball on offense and the clock. In years past, that recipe has worked pretty well when these two teams meet. ED has gotten better on defense has the year has gone on and no one has stopped them on offense yet. The Dogs have not been challenged this year other than the North Myrtle Beach game but that can only help them in the long run. No doubt that game of the season in eastern NC, don't miss it!!!!!!

Kind of funny that no one has hardly mentioned ED all year on here except that Princeton beat them. Now all of a sudden they're finding themselves in what would appear to be the conference show down with Wallace who has been talked about all year. ED has only 1 loss just like the Dogs. Should be a Great game, Go Panthers!!!

Sorry but I called this at beginning of season and talk about ED often. Little chest beating by me🤣

I expect a fairly low scoring game because ED will slow the game down as much as possible to keep WRH’s offense off the field. We definitely don’t have the defense to keep ED off the boards. Of course they can’t be much slower than us trying to get plays in on offense, that’s just brutal to watch. Adam seems to be taking way too long to get the play in. And if we onside kick every damn time we are liable to get the crap beat outta us but I think WRH squeaks it on out in the end about 27-21

I agree that I think ED will try and limit our possessions. They will be fine running their offense and getting 3-4 yards a play while moving the sticks. Key for them will be not playing behind the sticks. By that I mean penalties or tackles for loss putting them in a 1st and 15 or a 3rd and 9 type situation.

They arent flashy, wont wow you with athletes, but they are so well coached and disciplined in what they do that I do not think we can count on them beating themselves.

The Dogs have to do what they have been doing. Get out to a good start, feed Kanye and the defense has to get stops on 3rd down and get the ball back. This is always the highlight of the season for me because the two teams are so similar offensively in what they want to do. I am somewhat concerned in it being homecoming and all that.

Something tells me this game might not be as close as past years. The Dogs are healthy and should win but anyone that underestimates that coaching staff on the other sideline does so at their own risk. Remember, ED has won the last two times they have played in Legion (17 and 19) and have won three out of the last four meetings. They will come in here ready to play and WRH has to match the intensity they will see from ED. Should be another great atmosphere.

Totally agree Fence. I'm with you on thinking it won't be as close as previous years but my pick is based on history.

QUESTION
Everyone is considering this game to most likely be for the conference title. Wrh & ED both have the same record. Therefore, any idea what kind of seeding these two teams may get? I'm thinking the winner might end up with a 2 or 3 seed, no idea what the runner-up may receive. Thoughts?????

Seeds this year are based on RPI ratings. I think the winner of this game at worse gets a #3 assuming both win the last week of regular season. Loser would probably be the highest rated team not a conference champion so I would guess anywhere 9-11 since they would be seeded after the conference champs. I count 10 football playing conferences in the east but not sure how the split conferences will go (East Carteret).

Based on SOS, I see a #1 seed if the winner of this game wins the following week. Princeton leap frogged Northeastern this week after beating Spring Creek. Surely beating a WRH or an ED and then beating a JK or SWO would help the rating more than that.

If you are the daughter of our legend Jack Holley and your brother is Head Coach East Duplin and your husband Coaches at WRH, who do you pull for? She also graduated from WRH

What type of defense is WRH going to come out with? Thought it was interesting that we played a 3 man front against Kinston. Looked like some kind of prevent. Don't think we'll see that against ED. I think 4 man front. I don't know all the correct terminology.

Probably something to stop the run i would hope. Definitely different gameplan than kinston. Shouldn't be any secrets revealed 2moro night

From what each team has done so far it will be a Ground Game. Good article in JDN on ED. All players look for this game to be the Super Bowl of the year. WRH posters say about the same thing.

I like em both so who ever wins has the chance of being #1 seed, and pobably #1 in 2A.

GO Dogs and Panthers ...... beat each other up ..... ☠️

Should be a great game but I would caution both on thinking this is the regular season finale. Both have tough matchups next week with JK and SWO.

ED will be ready, will be prepared and will have intensity as soon as they get off the bus. WRH needs to match that and put all distractions (Senior night, homecoming) aside. WRH should win and I would say by a couple of TDs, but I also thought that 3 out of the last 4 years. As I have said before, this is like UNC playing Kansas in basketball. There are so many obvious subplots its crazy. Both teams run the same offenses and have for years. Same type of kids. Same pride in the programs and mutual respect for each others staffs. Good folks from the other side of the river but I hope we send them back up 41 with a L.
