Roanoke Rapids supposedly had a decent passing game, but you see how that turned out. It's kind of hard to complete passes when you're running for your life all night long.

I think the Bears running game is equal to their passing. There best back was out when they were taking those L's. Their front 7 is their strength on defense.
i dont think ED has been tested by a very good passing team, although i have been very impressed for the most part this year with our coverage. in the Roanoke Rapids game, one area where i thought our defense really shined was in our pass coverage. almost every time RR attempted a pass our secondary's timing was spot on. we would deliver the hit with nearly perfect timing as the ball first touched the recievers hands. of course all it takes is one bad night, or one blown play, and your pass defense, or defense in general, can get outplayed and evrything good they have done can be conveniently "forgotten". hopefully our defense continues to play well, and can pass the tough test that Hertford County presents, especially passing, but also running.
I don't know about y'all but I'm about ready for Hertford Co. to get this work. Our defense is rougher than a night in jail and they're all gonna find out tonight... the hard way.
thanks to Darkhorse Nation for the congrats. despite tonight's loss, congrats to you guys on a great season as well. as for us, one more win and we can play for the state title. Northside is a very good team. they would have to be in order to go to Darkhorse Stadium and get a victory. i feel we will have a very close game next week. having seen our game in the regular season, i can say there is no doubt that Northside is capable of beating us. but i feel like if both teams play equally well, that we are a slightly better team than Northside, and we will get the win. that being said, it will probably come down to who makes the least mistakes, and who takes care of the football.

i agree. their passing game is hard to stop. but they had to have it because we shut down their running game like we usually do.
You better shut down that Monarch QB freelancing and running the ball. He was the difference in the last 3 min of our game. In the 1st half Northside had just 28 yards offense and 1 first down on a penalty. The first half was played totally in Northside half of the field but the Horses got nothing to show for it. Do not go by your first game scores and do not go to sleep on them.i knew beating them again in the 3rd round would be difficult but beating them for a chance to play in the state championship may be tougher. I think ED should be favored but I'm just saying........

i agree with you 100%. i just hope our players take them as seriously as i do. i know we are capable of beating them, but it will be very tough to do so. i feel we have the right mindset right now, but i know deep in the playoffs you have to execute. also i know how it feels to totally outplay a team in parts of the game, and still lose. i know that really sucks for yall. in our 2010 3rd rd. game vs Tarboro, we totally dominated them on the stat sheets, but just didnt score enough pts. it sucks when it goes down like that.
