No chatter about this match-up is a bit surprising. Defending champ WRH will be a heavy favorite so I'm assuming everyone thinks its a foregone conclusion that the Bulldogs await the Tarboro-JK winner. However, In the words of Lee Corso, "not so fast my friends!" EC has arguably the best passing QB in the state & will be extremely dangerous on a dry, fast field. EC gave JK all they wanted earlier in the season & they have improved on defense. They definitely have to gang tackle extremely well to slow down the rushing attack of WRH & will also need some help in the turnover department but funny things happen in the 3rd round.

Calling it early. WRH is thinking ahead a week & EC pulls the upset in a shootout!!

I assure you that WRH is focused they have been hearing a lot about EC and their passing attack all year long especially after the JK game. There are a lot of people picking EC in this one. I'm taking WRH. I think their defense shows up big

Wrh clicking on all cylinders right now, even throwing the ball just enough to keep defenses honest. I think ec will be a tough out, all 3rd round teams should be. Dogs should prevail, barring a horrible night full of turnovers and penalties, which we have avoided since wk 6 or 7 of the reg season. I'm taking the dogs by 7, 35-28. And yes, we'd like nothing more than to have jk back at the pound next week, but not sure that's gonna happen

WRH is not counting the chickens before they hatch coach price is too smart to allow that, everyone knows EC has a great team however we think our defense will be the difference maker. EC will put up points we give them that just hope we can outscore them, should be a great game.

WRH is focused on EC right now...everyone who makes it this far are very good teams.....Im picking my dogs because of their defense..I think it will be close but my Dogs will pull it out in the 4th

Having played them both (EC & WRH) I'm looking for a WRH win, something like 14 to 35. And we'll have our hands full with Tarboro.

Reactions: aftermath
EC one of the worst tackling teams I have ever seen to only have 2 loses coming into the third round of the playoffs. WRH must have rushed for over 500 yds. with a running clock most of second half.

I was told EC's defense had improved over the course of the season. They apparently forgot and left it in Beaufort! Also, I thought their offense would score more on the Bulldogs but that never happened either. I, like many others, thought WRH would win this contest but nobody thought it would be by this margin with a running clock most of the 2nd half. A running mercy game clock during the 3rd round of the playoffs. Not something you see very often!

I do believe EC have themselves a good head coach and staff and will get back to being a real contender in the future. They have been there in the past! They have a good pool of kids to draw from in a beautiful area of the State......

Good call! If EC was that much improved then WRH must have improved leaps and bounds then. I was hoping for a close ball game so we would be tested. It didn't happen like that though the Bulldogs did whatever they wanted to do.
