Early predictions for title games

Shelby South Point should be another great game this year!! Hope you guys beat the heck out of each other again.

South Point will be South Point. They have some holes to fill but having one of the best coaching staffs in the state will take care of most of those concerns. There strength is on the offensive side of the ball. The offensive line is lead by a 4 year starter returning at left tackle who has committed to Georgia Tech. Our backfield has weapons throughout and should be considered dangerous at all 3 positions in the Triple option. We also return a 6' 3" 195 lb wide receiver with offers from a host of ACC schools after catching 31 passes, 15 for TD, while he ran for 2 TD's and added a pair of TD's on punt and kickoff returns as a sophomore last year. Kicking game will be strong as well.
Defense is where their question mark will be. Coaching and player development will dictate a lot on how good our "D" will be. We have the talent but developing it to the level where SP is one of the top 5 2-A schools for the 2018 season is the challenge.

That Left Tackle is dominant. I watched his film and most guys at his size have trouble getting low, but he blocks like he's only 5'8 instead of 6'3.

What about E Duplin and Hibriten? Did they both lose so many that they are not getting mentioned on here?

Didn't ND lose their QB and stud RB, who will replace them?

Hibriten returns entire offense except for 1 receiver. Defense returns 8 starters. Kicker, MLB and FS will be biggest question marks. Should be the best offense Hibriten has ever had defense will probably take a step back but still be very good.

Can you say back to back.

ED lost quite a lot, but we will still be a contender. i definitely think we can still make some noise this season. how much noise? it all depends on how fast we gel.

No. South Point actually had a very strong backup a year ago who will step in immediately adding speed to the QB position and a stronger throwing arm from what we had a year ago. He is a very savvy kid who will make the accurate reads.
The JV QB from last year will likely be a starter at one of a couple other positions in 2018 along with being the backup QB.

North returns 10 starters on defense and seven on offense. We lose the QB and RB but have a lot of experience returning and an undefeated JV team that won their games by an average of 5 TDs. The positions will be filled, Coach Flynn does a great job of developing players to move up and fill in.

Ill go ahead and throw Clinton's name in the hat for small 2A atleast should be considered a contender....returning a solid group and now a potential D1 caliber transfer at LB is only going to help....should be a interesting first year under Coach Johnson

I think ED will surprise some people for sure, and definitely be in the mix for a conference title and a deep playoff run. At this point, it's about a program, not just a team, and i believe in the program that Coach Holley is building now. Can't wait to get started again!!!
