Dudley schedule

They play their conference, and I’m sure other teams avoid them. Easy schedule or not they are an awesome team with a lot of talent. I’d put them as the favorite in 3a.
No idea. They are a great team, but their schedule is garbage. Most of the teams they play have losing records. That can't be fun for players or fans.
I can understand them playing Page as that is an in town rivalry. Page is 4A and should be better than they are so the fact Page football has been for a while is not Dudley's fault. They also play Hillside every season and that is a rivalry that goes back a lot of years. But there is no excuse for them to be playing teams like Atkins and HP Central. Both of them are awful and have been for years. They have no choice with their conference games. But Atkins and HP Central should be removed from the schedule and replaced with schools like East Forsyth, Grimsley, Tabor or a good Raleigh area school. Even a game against 2A power Reidsville would be a big improvement over the likes of Atkins and HP Central. Dudley just stomped on HP Central last week 62-0. Who wants to go to a snooze fest like that?
Probably the reason Winston Salem Atkins and High Point Central aren't " removed " from Dudley's schedule is because they're in the same conference.

Dudley is an amazing program and deserves a better schedule. Some people duck them and some make excuses but everyone is clamoring for Dudley vs Grimsley, as they very well should. Still hopeful that gets arranged asap.
Dudley vs Hillside goes back to the NCHSAC and is a long-term rivalry dating 50 years and more... Atkins is the same but also not as this Atkins is not the same school from the 60s (WS Prep owns that old building actually but you can still read Atkins engraved in the stone lmao)
Dudley should imo be playing Grimsley Page Smith Hillside and maybe East or West Forsyth annually. Parkland is also an old rival...
Dudley doesn't let their schedule get in the way, period. Coach Davis has them ready for playoffs schedule or no schedule, 3A or 4A. There's a reason they're penciled in deep annually for the playoffs or state title game on most people's brackets every year...

Yea, unfortunately Dudley is in a terrible conference with the only two good teams being them and Eastern Guilford (bad this year, but usually decent). It also doesn't help that they play generally one extra conference game because of how large their conference is. Maybe realignment next year will put them in a better conference.
Regarding the three non-conference games they do play each year, if Page and Hillside aren't going to ever get it together, then they need to be replaced. Rivalries are great and all, but people need to be challenged and Page and Hillside just aren't providing that anymore.

- Mt. Tabor (a former conference foe who has their number)
- East Forsyth
- Grimsley
- A charlotte or Raleigh team.
Reidsville would be a good one. Especially what they got this year.
And Hillside does have good teams some years. They are down this season. And that is a really good point about Atkins. The current Atkins is nothing like the Atkins from way back in the day that was strong in athletics. I think they are a school that now concentrates on STEM subjects. I think they opened 15 maybe 20 years or so ago? I don't remember the current version of Atkins ever being good in football. I am not sure what has happened at HP Central. Yes, it was some time ago, but they won a state title and had some really talented teams. I think Gary Whitman was the coach in those days. They are nothing like they used to be. I would love to see a Dudley and Grimsley match up or them playing against East Forsyth.

I'm hoping Reidsville and Dudley are able to schedule each other next year, would be a huge gate. Hopefully Dudley can also get grimsley on the schedule
Realignment may yet change some things we shall see... agreed on Tabor as they are one of the only schools that matches Dudley athletically year in and year out. Great games and matchup even if Tabor owned them recently. Things go in cycles as they say... Reidsville is also a good one. Heck I'd love to see Dudley vs Shelby or Crest as a regular season game. Kings Mountain too. Maybe West Charlotte, Mallard Creek or Julius Chambers. I'd also say Thomasville if they weren't a 1A school. Lexington also would make sense but they're still down and not near ready atm... maybe Kannapolis Brown?

Yes the current schedule sucks for the Dudley Panthers. Some things they cant control like their Horrible conference. Dudley's non conference is hurting them a bit as well. Page, Southeast Guilford and Hillside are all 4A teams with some good Teams of the past . Hillside has always provided Dudley with a great match up physically with their size and speed but are currently hurting with the change that they have had in the last two years with a new coach and losing numerous transfers to other Durham schools as they now run the Wing T. ( Lost a lot of Talented Skill guys) Southeast is also a young team in many areas. Both Teams Beat Dudley just 2 years ago . Hillside also won their conference last year after a slow start. Dudley got a little beat up during the non conference schedule and will have plenty of time to get healthy for the Playoffs. Coach Davis will also have the boys getting after it in practice and ready for to make a deep run this postseason. (Btw... They have reached out to Grimsley for a game numerous times....)
Yeah, Dudley schedule had potential to be good. You just never know. If I’m Dudley I move on from all those teams, maybe not page though
Well first of all, N.W Guilford schedule isn't nothing to brag about. North Davidson, RJ Reynolds, Western Guilford, Page, Ragsdale, Southeast Guilford and Southwest Guilford. The only reason Grimsley and Northern Guilford is on your schedule it's because of you being forced to be in a conference with them. Burlington Williams is the only decent non-conference game you have on your schedule. 2nd, It was Grimsley in 2016 and Northern Guilford in 2012 that took Dudley off their schedule. Dudley has been trying to hook back up to play against Grimsley for the last 5 years, Grimsley will not play them. Dudley has made a rap video calling out Grimsley saying that they scared. Before they stop playing those schools, Dudley since 2000 til Now was 11-2 against Grimsley and 2-2 against Northern Guilford. It's funny, because Page and Southeast Guilford is in the conference with Northwest. Dudley is 17-4 against Page and 14-4 against Southeast Guilford. Also Ragsdale, Western Guilford and Southwest Guilford is in the conference also with Northwest. Dudley use to play those schools as well going 10-4 against Ragsdale, 12-0 against Western Guilford and 6-1 against Southwest. So it's very clear since the year of 2000, Dudley has been the most consistent and dominant high school football team in Guilford County. So I give Page and Southeast credit, They not scared to play Dudley, But apparently the best in your conference Grimsley and Northern are. Because like I said that they did not remove them from the schedule They wanted to stop playing Dudley. As far as the conference schedule go they can't do anything about it. You got to talk to Que Tucker and NCHSAA about these conference alignments. I don't like it either. But I remember a few years ago when Dudley would go outside the region and play schools like Richmond County, Raleigh Wakefield, Fayetteville Pine Forest, Davie County, Southern Durham, Northern Durham and South Iredell. People around here in Guilford County was complaining why they didn't play the local schools in Guilford County. And the Guilford County School Board got involved and said it Dudley had to play Page and Southeast Because of the rivalry and ticket crowds. Seems like Grimsley and Northern are the only schools in the area they can go outside area code to play outside the region. A team from South Carolina wanted to play Dudley a few years back and Guilford County School Board said it was too far. GW Danville, VA Play Dudley and JV last week. The coaches said after the game they would like to play us in varsity football next season. Hopefully we can work that out. But like I said I don't see Northwest Athletic director reaching out to play Dudley and I don't think they'd ever played. So look in the mirror and ask Your AD to schedule a game with Dudley We would love to play you. But I doubt he or she will....
Dudley definitely tried . It wasn’t their fault that those teams are down. A non conference next year of gw, reidsville and page, grimsley or east Forsyth would be fine and a good gate
You guys are a state contender we are no where near the level you guys are at…..but you guys will probably schedule us next and pad your schedule even more!!
