I'm not sure too many people really love kids moving and transferring but it's where we are at. Not sure we can go back anytime soon. Some counties have more open policies than other. Not sure what is right or wrong.
Kids and families want to generally have better opportunities. If that means transferring or moving, it is what it is. This lastest 🧩 for the big bad Boom Devils is for football, spin however, homecoming whatever. It's the world we live in.
Other schools have benefitted to, Lincolnton has an absolute stud LB, I believe he started at Foard his freshman year. Not sure the reason behind him and other foard kid leaving. Foard football is rough.
Still not sure where the Surrats lived.
This stuff has happened and will continue to happen.
Teams need to be more open about instead of crying and living in the past.
😀
Wild to think the Wolves have a high level D1 basketball player and football player right now. Awesome to be honest.
True stuff.
Surratts rented a nice apartment, and they moved in. And engaged in the community.
Moved here to play ball, got a football scholly, All American Basketball... and was valedictorian to boot. Entertained, harbored and engaged with teammates and students...Still playing for money, with a Wake Forest degree.
We enjoyed their presence, and never once thought about turning them away. Followed the rules, helped kids in need, coached and made some history along the way.
Continuous scrutiny from powerful places, but it worked out for us and them!
We took more heat that year for another transfer, who moved cuz he needed a roof.
Transfers happen.
I won't comment on the current/recent players. Good kids who rep the Black and Gold very well. Wolves.
Our BB stud is homegrown, and currently competing against some ex,-teammates who transferred to the Boom Devils for their own reasons.
What a time to be alive!
