Ready for football already! HaHa should be an interesting year 2023 in the CVAC conference. I think EB is ready for this conference for this year from what the roster coming back for this football season looks like. We just have to find a new QB to fill the roll. Enough heartbreaking close games lost from last two year's. Freedom BH Lincolnton Newton Conover West Lincoln all lost in the final drive. Rebuilding a program from a few years of losing is tough for sure!!Duke Blue Devils football is a sign to keep digging we will get there.

Saw over on the Coaches thread where St. Stephens is looking for a week 1 game and Bunker Hill is looking for a week 2 game.

Looks like the non-conference portion of the schedules for some CVAC teams are changing.

Anxious to see how it shakes out.

Any big upcoming coaching changes for the teams? I assume Lincolnton will be officially announced soon. There is an open assistant job for Maiden on the job board. Did someone retire or going to?

Any big position battles on the horizon for teams? A few may have a QB spot open or needing a change....

Has any transfers enrolled for the spring semester?

Maiden lost pert near everyone….I’d say most positions are up for grabs over here.

Have no idea on transfers yet.

Is the superintendent kid working to be qb as of right now?

Seemed like he played pretty decent on D near the end of the season when he got in.
Not sure….seems he would be the logical choice….and you’re right….he did play very well on the defensive side.

We’ll see.

CVAC Junior Varsity football standings from this past season.

1. Bandys 7-0
2. Newton Conover 6-1
3. Lincolnton 5-2
4. Maiden 4-3
5. West Lincoln 3-4
6. East Burke 2-5
7. Bunker Hill 1-6
8. West Caldwell 0-7

Bandys edged Newton Conover 43-42…..so I think both teams were equal.
Lincolnton played both of them tough as well.

It’ll be interesting to see if this has any bearing on how the varsity teams finish next season.

Most believe the Bears are the front runners…but Bandys, Newton and Lincolnton should be in the mix as well.

You can't fully go by that because some teams move talented underclassmen off of JV to play varsity. And hard to tell how this coming season will look till all the cards fall. 😉😉🤣🤣

Lincolnton JVs were not very good in 1992 and helped contribute to win the state championship in 1993 (30 years ago).

I saw were Mack Brown was at Maiden last night.
