Crest @ Shelby

Sometimes it’s not that the team doesn’t have enough kids to participate but they could be missing all of one position so coach/AD could consider it unsafe to play that week… Also most of the time the quarantining comes from the county health department’s..

Gaffney asst. Jeff Allen just posted they need a game Friday. Hey shelbyfan1 have Wilbanks call'em. I would love to see that one .

We are to play this game with Crest, NCHSA says u can only play 10, Crest is telling us they wanna still play, if we play Gaffney can't play Crest. So I'm not sure what will happen
If crust cant play suit em up and go against some stiff SC comp is 11 games not the max. ?

In all seriousness, there were a couple of Shelby teams that came out, and hit Gaffney with haymakers, only to be worn out by Gaffney’s depth by the 4th quarter.

Robert Williams in the first video. Hopper in the second link, bro.

Looking at the dates, were they ever on the same team at the same time? Should have been on the field at the same time, but I guess not since both wearing #12.

Guy in the first clip played opposite Dre Bly for the Heels back in the day, during that time when UNC’s defense was hell. All state DB in high school, all ACC, and had a short stint in the NFL. Hopper ended up playing baseball, played for the Cincinnati Reds briefly.

Lion Attack, I once played pick up ball with Bly. I guarded him and I can tell you that I have never worked harder than that day in my life. I was exhausted and still am tired. We beat his team to include a guy who bested Shaq's high school scoring record. I later asked him who was the toughest person he, Dre Bly, had played against. His reply was Allen Iverson. I cannot imagine trying to check AI in his prime because Dre Bly was enough.

I guess it is time to shut this thread down for now. Use to be the best running thread every year on Shelby vs Crest week on these boards. That 2015 thread maybe the best of all time.
