Clinton @ Eastern Randolph 2nd RD

He is a special one ED71 he has a chance if Clinton keeps winning to be only the 2nd Clinton running back to hit the 2,000 yard mark.Only Nic Cooper has done it he did it twice....Skinner being only a sophmore makes itbthat much special....watching him on JV last year he was a man among boys he really should of been playin Varsity as a freshmen...currently siting at 1,676 yards and i think about 21 TDs

watched his film. good back. speed to me is what he needs to work on for the nextvlevel. same ole lewis offense. just wins.

Darkhorse#34, Skinner leads the state with 14.2 yards per carry. He has less than half the carries of some of the total rushing leaders because the DarkHorses have a whole stable of running backs who can carry the ball very well.
Footballfantic to the Sampson Independent's defense they are the only paid subscription newspaper in Sampson County ( our states largest county square miles) and they have 6 high schools to cover. The late Fred Burgess was very good at it. He told me once if he didn't get the the DarHorses game he would record it (old school way before media networks we have today) he'd record it in his tape recorder from the radio broadcast and listen to it when he got back from one other schools game and write his story. Tomorrow night November 20th at 6:30 pm at Union High School, Fred Burgess (posthumously) will be inducted in the Sampson County Sports Hall of Fame.

In response to Football Fantic's remarks about how easy it is to get info today - not as easy as you think. Most of the local newspapers that you could go to for info on the internet are now encrypted and subscription only - for example the Jacksonville Daily News, whiteville.com, brunswickbeacon.com, the greenville paper, etc. So no details there, your next avenue is to go to maxpreps and hope your upcoming opponent has supplied their stats. Some do; some don't. Farmville Central doesn't have any stats out there; Red Springs had stats but they were only from 3 or 4 games, not all 11. So not as easy to get stats and history on your upcoming opponent as you might think.

Darkhorse as an avid recruiting follower his speed is good not great. but he is young and that is what i see he needs to work on. his vision, pad level, acceleration through holes, running with power - its all there.

He has time to improve his speed, but at this point he is at least one of the best backs in the state and only a sophomore. Hopefully skinner will get a little taller to.

jpc4unc, what I'm referring to is coverage(or lack thereof) the teams in Sampson County. It is Wednesday and there is nothing written on either Clinton or Lakewood, the only county teams left in the playoffs. They used to be so good at writing stories for all of the teams leading up to and during playoffs. The quality has gone down a bit is all I was stating.

Is it Friday yet...lol decided to take the trip up to Ramsuer Friday ill be a lil tired for work Saturday but if the Horses win it will be worth the ride

Thanks Fanatic...word around town alot of Clinton faithful will be making the trip aswell as some Alumni from the Greensboro area...hope the visiting side has plenty of seating.....gotta be a great feeling for the kids to look up in the stands and see them full like its a home game.....makes me feel for programs that dont have a good following

Exactly. Fortunately for the Darkhorses, we have always traveled well. Should be a good game tomorrow, but I'm confident our boys can pull it out!

Seems like everyone wants to be a Darkhorse.....Well I am going to be a Wildcat. People can sleep on these boys, they know how to win. Great QB, OL, and RB. They have had big wins all season and I think Coach Baxter will have them ready to play.

My Prediction:

ER 35
Clinton 21

Great Defense????...that may be the difference

I can tell you this they have contained some great offenses enough to beat them. So if that answers your ????

Clinton 21 ER 7......final gameday prediction homefield is worth a touchdown i think its close early on and Clinton's defense makes the difference along with the strong running game late to pull away. GO HORSES!!!!

ALL REAL, I guarantee the Wildcats have not seen a ground and pound team like Clinton this year. This will be a good game, but I think the Darkhorses will win and move on to the 3rd round.

I am sure Randleman, Asheboro, Andrews, and Southern Guildford (Leading rusher in the state) running's game are just as good if not better.

hard to make that statement when you nothing about the teams they have played. obviously clinton has a good running attack and i'm sure that will evident on hudl. who ever executes their will and what they do best will win this game regardless of where it's played.

Absolutely Ah Yeah, I totally agree. Tonight at 7:30pm it will be whoever wants it more.

ER has tons of seating in their stadium. After the '83 state title game, they moved the home stands to the visitors side and constructed a first class structure on the home side. Darkhorse fans plus all the area fans will have plenty of room.

ER has not beaten a really good team all year. They arent great at any position. they need some breaks to have a shot to win.

24-6 Clinton blocked punt by Chandler Whitfield ran in by Dessus.....Chandler Whitefield is my first nomination for all state 2A this kid leaves it on the field 3rd or 4th blocked punt this year

worst set of wooden bleachers I've seen in years. OSHA needs to be contacted. They were extremely dangerous.
The NCHSAA needs to be contacted prohibiting games being played there until those bleachers are up to standard.
