We will be fine. It hurts depth and experience but we still have talent that’s why so many of these other programs are recruiting our kids. Ever since many of them got put on that “Prep Zone” watch list or did that scam CFI stuff, it’s been a concerted full court press on our kids/parents. It’s mostly out of hate for Herron and also because D. Wilson didn’t get the KM job. Wilson annd Kennedy haven’t been out there in three years as coaches but those dudes are still bitter. Daryl should focus on building his own program out of that dung pile in Dallas. All of these guys are working together and currently Ashbrook is benefiting. Some of these guys I had respect for because they initially were all about helping kids but now it’s about serving agendas and helping themselves. There are at least two who post here on ncpreps that I know of. One who left Shelby and went to Indy. I want to call names so bad because they think people don’t know what they are up to with the exception of some of these gullible parents. Currently KM, Shelby are getting smeared pretty bad and the only reason that Crest is not getting smeared is because some of Crest assistant coaches are friendly with those guys. If not for that then Lloyd would be getting smeared also. The ironic thing is KM has probably sent more kids to play college ball in the last 10 yrs then Huss, Ashbrook, NG, FV, and Cramer combined. KM has also had over 30 college programs visit KM for the first week of Spring ball but our coaches do not pose for pictures with visiting coaches and post them all over social media like some do.

I’ve been busy today and I open this comment and to my surprise guess what I see. I expected someone else to jump on this comment but on the ShutdownD Show I am an equal opportunity offender. So here we are. This show is part Ripley’s Believe it or Not, part Faces of Death, and part Twilight Zone.
Yes you were PART of a great run in KM, a lot of things came together collectively, and both you experienced the most success you’ve been involved in as coaches. I can’t take that away. That run was going to happen regardless because of the talent that came up. I noticed you twisted a few things but let me say this. I never attack coaches for the work they put in or the hours they put in. My coaches poured into me and created good habits that I utilize today so don’t try to misconstrue that. I feel blessed to have the life experiences I have and blessed to have experienced much success when it comes to career and family. I could brag on accomplishments but I do not and will not. This is a high school football board so guess what, we talk about football, the good and bad. Right now KM current coaches are dealing with some bs from people they don’t even know. I am a four year KM football alumni so you would be wrong about not knowing what it’s like to be on the sideline or playing. What I do know is that many of the people you are mentioning are calling current KM kids directly or having others do that for them, that’s a fact. The worst part is they are smearing people they don’t know or making promises to kids that no one can guarantee. Those are facts. You know some of the KM parents so how about you ask them for yourself. Your son is still there, ask him to ask his teammates about the calls they are receiving and more importantly what is being said on those calls. I never said that you or Daryl was calling players to transfer yourselves but the bitterness you guys have and created inspired others to use that as a weapon against the current regime. I went to ChatGpt to define loser and your picture popped up with a Huskie and NG coaching shirts on. This is just a love tap, don’t become a martyr for clowns with no character. What’s done in the dark will come to the light. You roll with it, get rolled over, or get rolled up.

I was also VOTED NCHSAA COACH OF THE YEAR meaning at one time, my peers considered me the BEST.In other words Winning was in my DNA. But you were right about thing.I was just a PART of the success KMHS. I was surrounded by great players and LLOYD put together a fantastic coaches staff , KM ELITE , Kings Mountain Optimus and community that gave a damn. WE SHOWED UP EVERY FRIDAY and gave our best!!! Coach Herron has treated me and my Family with nothing but respect. He even asked me to speak to the team seconds before the big game when they played against 2023 Crest. Many of you know my BEST friend COACH WILSON was on the other side of the field that night. And when I told Coach Wilson that I had agreed to help give a pregame speech to Kings Mountain. His only reply was” WE PROMISED THOSE KIDS WE WOULD ALWAYS BE THERE FOR THEM I CAN’T DO THAT TONIGHT BECAUSE I’M COMMITTED TO THE CREST CHARGERS. BUT YOU HAVE TO DO IT AN HONOR THAT COMMITMENT.” Herron is a champion and I’m sure he would laugh at the notion that people who are three years removed are affecting his program. I can respect your post or some of it. I never questioned the work you did at KM sports or your credentials as a wrestling coach. I think you were a really good d-line coach but you are twisting words and topics. You guys names are used as references in speeches to parents who don’t know any better but more so Darrel’s name is used in all of this slander by some in the group i mentioned. Many of us have heard it used as justification for why parents should transfer their kids. I’ve never seen either one of you step up and publicly stop some of the nonsense that was posted on Facebook or by people yall know when people were talking crazy. Having a kid’s back means putting personal feelings and bitterness aside to help a child be the best they can be and supporting them completely, not bouncing on those same kids you “loved” because you in your feelings. If you are speaking for you and Coach Wilson that is fine and again I respect it but I am hoping it’s intentional that you aren’t speaking for some of these others slime balls in THIS particular post out here doing some of the things they are doing from the shadows. I am also sure that if you spoke to any current KM kids then you definitely heard about the very active recruiting of many of our kids by some of these people or their representatives. Yes it is surprising if you didn’t know. At the end of the day I am a Mountaineer thru and thru not just passing thru for a couple of years. If something needs to be spoken I will speak on it. If there is a lesson in all of this it is the need for KM to have more alumni on their sidelines that can connect with the kids. I agree I am looking forward to another great high school season for area teams.
