That RB from KINGS MOUNTAIN that Binky, that coach and some fans and Cleveland County took a dump on is at Gaffney now.

For what Gaffney is paying their coach any coach would have to look at it. It’s not just any high school job. Coach Lloyd applied for every job that came open for years, also don’t act like Coach Barnes didn’t bounce on you guys for greener pastures lol. For the record, our running back was not ran off. He was treated really well in KM and especially by Herron. Herron is a players coach. He is old school but he loves the kids and they know it. This is the result of a parent not understanding the current recruiting process for high school kids. Gaffney currently has a running back with ten D1 offers smh. Anyway KM will have some great news on the football front at the end of the school year.

This summer, I am going to try to get a few recruiters to come up with a recruiting guide for athletes AND PARENTS(a lot of them are messing the kids up,esp their social media post) under the new college recruiting landscape. This is needed especially with colleges 1st priority being the portal when looking at players now, these parents just understand.
It’s hard telling some football dad’s that their kid isn’t the best player on the planet. Some of the kids look at the defensive backs at Crest, the linebacker at Ashbrook, and big Tex in KM and wonder why they aren’t receiving the same attention. It’s crazy..
With the exception of the high major athlete, many high school players are getting their offers later in the process now if any. Parents are not understanding that concept.

Most kids going to have to work up from d3 and d2 through the portal nowadays.
Don’t forget juco and prep schools. The whole recruiting process changed after the COVID stoppage. After Covid you had extra eligibility years, transfer portal expansion, and NIL causing havoc to the high school recruiting process. The high school kids never had a voice in all the college football changes. Seeing 23, 24, and 25 yr old college athletes is becoming the norm in some places.
Lol If I remember correctly Bessemer City beat NG last year. Lincolnton would destroy all 3 of those teams.You should because they could beat anyone on your conference schedule outside of Burns by 50.
I get the recruiting and transfer portal is just a way of life now. It is literally everywhere. The thing that kills me is that it has taken away from historic side of high school football. It has become a pissing contest really. Every school benefits from transfers and some do actively recruit. I know I am still in the 90's mentally and that is on me but damn I miss watching a team come up from elementary and become great for their community. Those days are far behind us. The issue for me isn't that Burns does not get the high caliber transfers but more about these kids being forgotten once they leave. The majority of the time these kids transfer in and don't get any more recruiting than they would have at their previous school You think a college coach passes up any school in CC? Not a chance. They know what we bring. I have seen so many kids transfer and win a title just to be forgotten about the year after they graduate. The kids born and bred in the community become legends. We see it all the time. So the real question is what has this new way of life really done on a positive level for the kids transferring besides giving mom and dad something to brag about. We raise our kids to tell them if you start a season, you finish it. Now we have kids leaving mid season. Just crazy but it's what sports have become.
McGowan is probably one of the best 2 sport athletes to come to Burns..
I can tell you from direct experience with all of this, many moms and dads loved being courted/recruited more than the kids. You are correct it always doesn’t work out. There are probably more stories of situations that didn’t work out than those that did.
We had a receiver last year who was a two year starter at KM transfer to Gaffney last spring. He was a good player who got lost in the numbers at his new school. Gaffney brought in around 18 transfers last season including about seven who played the same position he did.
He is back at KM after the Gaffney season saying that was the worst mistake he ever made transferring.
At Gaffney, if they don't bring you in on for an unofficial "visit," you are probably not apart of their football plans. They'll take anyone, especially a starter from elsewhere because every teams love adding depth, but it eventually could hurt that transfer when they only get mop up duties because they are behind the athletes that had "visits."
Wanted to post this again and see if I can get any kind of help on the CC teams.

1, They always say they are loaded but choke in the playoffs year after year after year.. their only claim to fame is beating Shelby 3 in a row.(obsessed with Shelby is an understatement)... Major under achievement every single season..... talk a big game about how great for instance as you stated their DB:s are .. They have zero faith in them or the runningback position hence the reason they tried to rob KM of half their team.... More daddy jobs and housing being offered than ever before...
2. Shelby is rolling this year.....the end
3, KM Is going to good, but see the choke job in #1 around round 3 or 4
4. Burns is going to beat the scrubs in the conference but will lose every game in the county again.....

Update- They ((Gaffney)), don't even know why the KM player transferred there. Close to 20 transfers coming in for next season as of now and he isn't going to be a part of their offensive plan as of now, along with some other issues. Not saying anyone can't lose their position to a hard worker, but it's going to be hard to take a big D1 recruits carries plus others that actually come for 'visits' at the same position, barring injuries.
"some parents, just don't understand" would be the new theme some for the new college recruit landscape.

No doubt but if East doesn't cancel football that one season he wouldn't have come to Burns. ER baseball was solid that year but he also wanted to play football. Solid athlete all the way around.
