It’s bad man. There is no sense in it either. SP is all GC really has and once in a while they’ll be down like the rest of us.
The rest off them are terrible.
TJ is surly missing Cash and the others that worked their tails off to get kids to the school to play football…. I’m guessing the new staff didn’t know what went into building those teams that were winning lots of game and thought the kids were just walking the halls already 😂.
Actually the Offense Coordinator that Cash had came back to be HC this year and he has got to build them back up! HC is playing a ton of 9th and 10th graders on varsity in order to build his program for future..
The key will be working to develop some type of feeder system for the program. It will need to be different than the regular public schools of course due to its Charter status. Coach will need to get out in community and build relationships with teachers, middle school coaches, and families.
Yeah I will admit I know zero about the program now but I was pretty familiar with the program a few years back. Thing have surly changed now but I wish them nothing but the best
Crest…I believe these boys believe in themselves and in the coaching staff. Defense needs prove they can stop the running game. They can do it. But you gotta be smart, the triple option for some reason it is like learning organic chemistry for these kids.
The middle school coaches in rutherford county will or should have allegiance to their feeder high schools out there. TJ has k-12. Recently, for several years they was getting to 3rd round of 1A playoffs to run up on physical teams like Robbinsville. 2 years ago the big wideout chose Virginia over some Ivy leagues and other power 5 school offers. I think they have middle school sports but not football. If the school was larger and able to accept the number of kids that applied there, it would have more kids than all the rutherford county schools. I was at the lottery several years back when they had over 350 trying to get into the 7th grade there(they was the #3 academic school in NC those years). I know they did have some Cleveland County athletes, 2 being from KM that helped their sports teams.
They have middle school football. Play in the Tri County conference with Cleveland, Rutherford, Lincoln.

Whoever wins the coin toss is definitely going to want the ball first. SP’s aim will be to shorten the game and Crest’s goal will be to make SP play from behind. The key to the game is which team can establish their running game and stop the others’ run game. If Crest can consistently run the ball then this game is over before it starts. If Crest cannot stop the SP run game then Crest will have limited offensive touches to score. If Crest can go up two scores in 2nd half then this game is a wrap. SP definitely is going to play coverage and try to go on long time consuming drives. Coach Wilson knows how to slow the redbone so I am going with the Chargers.
The only way SP stays in the game is if they go on those 16 play drives and keeps the Crest O sitting.

The high school may have had open slots. If they have open slots, anyone in NC can transfer there. When I went through the process with my kid in 7th grade, it was definitely done the correct way. Coaches definitely reached out after knowing we applied and was 4th on the waiting list. Even the then principal. My kid was definitely known in sports and academics was never an issue. Usually if you in top 10 on waitlist, you get in because of moves, but everyone stayed that year. They actually draw the names right there in front of you.
At the jamboree, SP put the ball on the ground several times. I have heard that they have still had some issues with that. Not sure how many fumbles they have had this season, but they won't be getting any of those long drives if they put it on the ground.
A ton are having better years goofy, miniature Huskey is not very good lol. Just like the 5 star wr y'all said you had, going to Alabama lol. You crest guys are hilarious 😂
SP fumbles and false starts every game before the Crest game. They will not have turnovers nor any penalties , I expect a perfect offensive game from SP. still do not think they will be enough to stop Crest. Crest offense pits so much pressure on the opposing offense it’s unreal.
We owe SP for two loses last year.

South Point is going to have to play clean. Seen it happen where a team has a turnover or behind due to penalty and Crest avalanches them.
They have been fumbling on option pitches so they have not been pitching it a lot this year. Coach Wilson is the x-factor for Crest this year, he knows how to attack the redbone.
Crest ain’t attacking anything, defensively. Their best defense at the moment is just scoring a bunch of points. Take the “over” in all of their games.

Been pouring it on a lil too thick on here lately, bro. Read recently where dude mentioned y’all beating West Charlotte by 28, which was laughable. Now, my guy Shutdown24 mentioning y’all suddenly having this attacking defense. South Point is going to score about 28 points on you guys, but Crest will drop 40 plus. Crest does that effortlessly. The offense is a thing of beauty. The defense, not so much.

Plus 28 was me.lol. I have seen almost all top teams in 3A west except Dudley, West Henderson and Northwest Cabarrus now. Of course anything can happen any given night but some teams you have to see live and see the whole field. Seen WC twice live and still stand by 28. It's all a matter of opinion though.
I was meaning in general. Happy EG is having a decent year. But overall they have been horrible.
The point was Gaston County football is not very good overall and is not much better than Rutherford County.
SP is down and rebuilding. Their best player is the LB and FB. Hard to go both ways whole game. I assume QB is still good but haven’t heard his name much. Crest holds them below 17. Crest scores on every possession. Going to be interesting to see how SP travels knowing they’ll get beat down. I do guarantee we won’t have irrigation to bust on their sideline though.
This game won't be close IMO. Crest rolls big, maybe running clock big. If they remember last year and bring a chip and play to their capabilities. It's hard to get up on them that big because they chew clock every snap. But if anybody can, it's Crest.
That kid is going to be the best football player in Cleveland County here real soon.. 9th grader.. I hear he's already done with the JV too.
To bad he's transferring to Burns next year........
