There will be no big time ground game. It will just like the Hendersonville game. Chase has no pass defense. Chase no team speed. QB is very inconsistent.
We give up way too many yards. I hate this bend but don't break type defense. Just get a three and out and be done with it. This will prob be another one of those games where we only get 6-7 possessions.
So your trying to tell me Reidsville should win?

Marqies McCombs, a 5-10, 180-pound junior, looks to be the top man the Rams will have to chase. He has 2602 yards rushing this year with 36 TDs. Three of those TDs and 194 of the rushing yards came in the playoff opener.
The week before that in the 41-29 win over R-S Central he carried the ball 46 times (according to MaxPreps) and gained 338 yards and scored 6 TDs. Earlier this year he had 362 yards and 5 TDs against McDowell.
In the loss to Hendersonville, he still piled up 251 yards rushing.
Season low output was 110 yards.

The running back, Mccombs has well over 2000 yards rushing. I think he is being looked at by some division one schools as well.

The athletes went through combine testing, individual drills, 1-on-1's, a 7-on-7 tournament, and a lineman challenge. 247Sports was on hand to check out all of the action during the two-day event at West Cabarrus High School. There were also a couple of extra events including the strongest athlete contest, fastest man contest, and the quarterback challenge.
McCombs was one of the running backs listed.

I looked at some of his highlights on hudl .... this guy is going to present quite a challenge for the young Rams defense.
His coach and and an opposing coach are extremely high on McCombs.

It helps turn a corner when a big-time transfer arrives.
Chase has a damn good Coach in Cogdill. He will have them as prepared as they can be. RB has a ton of attention but Derisma on D is nothing to look past either. One players stats may get national attention but they didn’t make it here without 11 doing their job. As I said before, I’m interested to see how these two matchup. I saw Reidsville on film vs McMichael. I’m still interested.

But I think this will be a competitive game, key will be how will rams defense contain mccombs. I know they have more than him as well.

How’s reidsville defensive front ? that’s what gives chase the advantage for marqies the running room. They are really big up front and wear teams down. Chase can throw the ball but chooses not to really ... no need in most games.

I honestly just don't see what I guess others see in Chase. They have an all-state RB yes, but that's it. I mean look at who they've played. The only good team they played they got blasted.
There is no way in hell Chase wins. Yes, Chase front line is big but slow. Not a close game. I watched Chase player Hendersonville. Hendersonville beat the hell of Chase.
You are not wrong really... if you look at our game against chase it was a really close game at halftime and then after half we fell apart and then the score got bad. Having 27 kids and most playing both ways hurts .... no excuse tho

The computer models will have Reidsville favored by 2 TDs or less.
If there is to be an upset in the second round 2A West, this would be where I would look.
The Rams defensive line and linebackers are the weakest link in the Reidsville arsenal. A strong running game that can control the clock and keep the Rams lethal offense off the field will give Reidsville fits.
That said, beating the Lee to Flippen/Peoples passing attack on Jimmy Teague field at Community Stadium is a mighty tall order for any team.
Should be a good one.

Mule, I don’t think the defensive line and linebackers are much different than last season. The big difference is that it’s no rankin on the defensive front. Now, if Tamir Johnson were in the lineup that would make a huge difference

I do agree with mule the run defense isn’t where it should be
Coach Teague and his staff made a few key changes about 3 or 4 games ago. O line and moved a few people around on the d line. TGT can you look back and see what our defense has allowed after the Andrew's game until now and also look at how much more efficient our running game has improved.
I thought we were very suspect until those changes. I think you'll see improvements on both sides of the ball.
