In my view, Mt Airy got out played at every segment of the game:
Kicking- CC by a bunch
Offensive Line- CC by a fair amount
Defensive line- CC by a bunch
Secondary- CC
Game Plan-CC not even close
Backs- pretty much even except play calling gave the advantage to CC
Total Defensive effort- while the Bear Defense at times played outstanding, their were times that they just could not contain or stop the outside run plays. Therefore you have to give the advantage to CC because they stopped Mt Airy more than Mt Airy stopped CC.
You get the picture.
Again CONGRATULATIONS to Corvian.
PS The Chicken Stew was the total hit of the night, and maybe the tailgating Season (if I do say so myself)

Truth is This was a good game by 2 good teams! Offense yards were about the same. It was 14 -7 amd MA had chance to tie it up and had the fumble it happens. Bears didnt blow a team out and us spoiled Bear fans are quick to have blame. Corvian just made few more plays to get the win. Head up MA players be proud of your run as I am proud of you kids! Great run MA! Bear fans lets take a minute and chill its ok and sun will come up tomorrow. No one to blame its a HS football game amd sometimes you lose to a team that makes few more plays. No they can not. Mt Airy and Surry County is not an open system. Stop blowing out stupid statements from your rear end.
MA had about the same yards as Corvian. Corvian just a better team. MA had a chance at the end. 14 pointa allowed D played great. Corvian #5 hard to bring down.

#21, #22, and #44 really stood out on defense. Those ends made big big plays backing up Corvian. #50 has tremendous heart. At times #44 was playing 2 positions at linebacker, the other one couldn’t handle the speed and 44 was there to save him countless times while also having to come flying all the way from the other side of the field to have to help make tackles
Corvian wanted it more and it showed. Lack of discipline and laziness killed the Bears. #4 and #22 aren’t part of that discussion and I hope they aren’t blaming theirselves for what happened at the end of that game
We've gone over this many times. You can pay a tuition and go to MA. There are other steps and approvals needed, but 100% you can live outside of MA district and go to MA. I'm not getting into the pissing contest of who has (more) transfers but it is possible.
If they get any kids from Winston it probably isn't our best players. Those kids usually transfer to East Forsyth, West Forsyth or Mt. Tabor.
I just hope this loss doesn’t send the bear’s posters into a deep dark depression like it did to the Robbinsville posters last year. Most of those boys are still in hiding. I need some entertainment and after all, it’s just a game and this is just a goofy message board. Kudos to the bears for a mighty fine streak.
I’ve lived in Mount Airy for 25 years and have been a huge football fan all of my life. I’ve watched and cheered the Bears on for most of those 25 years because my children went to Mount Airy City Schools. I’ve witnessed almost (95%) of those kids play little league ball and attend MA school all of their lives. Do some kids transfer and move to MA, of course they do. But it’s a very small percentage. Congratulations to the team on a great season. Congratulations to Corvian Community football and its fans. Corvian was a better team and they showed great sportsmanship, discipline and heart. They played a better game, period! Corvian Community, go do big things and bring that Championship back to your school, you deserve it!!

I believe every school has some exceptions of out of the school boundaries. It been like that where I’m from. Some Starmount kids go to Elkin, some Forbush kids go to Starmount, etc.
We played Corivan last year, I knew they would be trouble this year....just didn't think it would be this much, this soon.
I think right now Elkin kids are leaving and going to East and Starmount. It happens.
Oh yeah, all of Carvers players are at East and Tabor now. Your best players probably from VA.
I just want to apologize for being so raw and pointing the blame at any coaches after the loss. It is hard losing after winning so long but we got the max out of what we had this year and I want to say thank you to all the players and coaches for a great season. We lost a lot last year and to have a season like we did was a great accomplishment for Coach Taylor and staff. We will be good if not better next year with some exciting new options for Coach Taylor to decide on how to use so I look forward to the challenge of moving up and competing. Congratulations to Corvian, well coached and a good team and best of luck next week. It is great going back and forth on the board with so many people and none of us play. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.
I think the JV qb that left EW for elkin then quit is coming back to EW next fall. May see him back under center at EW????
I also know the jv qb for Elkin transferred to EW as well.
The thing for Elkin unlike East and Starmount in the past is they can't afford to lose kids. Not saying the other 2 can either but they've always had more depth than Elkin. Elkin is behind the 8 ball in that department.
MA's junior and senior classes while competitive were not dominant in middle school. While in high school they added a SC kid, Forbush kid, #50 and #10 were from the North Surry district and believe they got a linebacker from Charlotte. That's 5 defensive starters. Is it their fault those kids wanted to come there, no, but those 5 kids made a huge difference in their on field performance this year.
This senior class was part of the most dominant middle school football season in history. Charlotte kid, SC kid, forbush kid was not part of that. Only one of the NS kids was a part of that. Quit trying to take away from their success
North Surry's middle school beat this year's seniors 8-0 when they were in middle school. MA was competitive but not great or dominant. The dominant senior class for MA last year was absolutely dominant.
You’re still doing it. This years seniors were in 7th grade and on the team of the most dominant middle school football season. They were a part of it. They had a dominant run and continued to have a dominant run because they had a better program, better coaching, and developed into better athletes than North Surry. Those are the facts and they don’t care about your feelings
The FACTS are MA would not have been nearly as successful THIS year without 5 defensive starters who transferred to them for other schools. Again, I didn't say MA did anything wrong in these kids transferring to them but to ignore the impact they had on this year's success is asinine.
Dawkins and Martin played little league at MA. Charlotte kid moved to MA so not really transfer as he going to school in his district he lives in and J. Martin kid was hurt last year and left team before playoffs this year. I will give you Saul came from Surry Central....he was going to Esurry until Lowman left and Forbush kid was transfer. Happens everywhere.

Dawkins played LL at Franklin and middle school with North Surry. Martin played LL at White Plains. I am in no way being critical of MA, just stating the facts that those 5 kids made a significant difference on this year's team.
Alot of kids in this area start at 1 school and family can move 1 mile and puts you in different school district. Martin stopped playing football before playoffs and as a starting lb it hurt MA!
Still pulling for both teams. Had to be out of town so missed the game but did watch it on TV. I think I saw you sitting on the visiting side from NFHS.
