Charlotte Catholic vs Palisades 11/22

Toss up to me. Catholic is lucky they aren't out
Game was not as close as the score. PR got a goofy deflection off a pass that should have been picked and took it to the house late in the 4th quarter. Catholic also probably knocking off a little rust. Previous game was three weeks ago. A time to heal up but game sharpness can diminish. PR is also a good team despite their record. They got blown out by Weddington but so did many others. All of their other losses were close. A play here or there would have earned them a higher seed. Catholic survives and moves on. Next round is at home against Palisades, a new school still developing a program but having some quick success. On paper, Catholic should win and I expect them to be a little sharper this coming Friday. Happy to be in Round 2.

Page turned Palisades over 5 times and was up 3-0 (after missing 2 FG attempts) with 3 mins left in the 4th quarter. Palisades defense kept them in the game. If Page had some more experience and season on O, the game wouldn't have been close. For a 3-7 team that everyone said shouldn't even be in the playoffs, they were pretty darn close to beating one of the 4A conference champions. I think Palisades record is inflated. I also think CC wins this one going away.

It's impressive to see how quickly they've built such a strong program in just their third year. The influx of talent from Olympic High School has certainly bolstered their roster, and it’s evident that the coaching staff is making a significant impact on the team's development. Palisades' defensive strength is particularly noteworthy. Having a solid defense at all three levels is crucial for success in high school football, and it seems they've managed to cultivate that. The fact that Kendric Davis, their standout linebacker, has committed to East Carolina speaks volumes about the caliber of players they are attracting.

The Cougars' ability to stay focused and maintain their composure under pressure has been a defining feature of their success.

Palisades lost to West Charlotte so I am going to give this one to CC.

The ability to shake off that rust quickly is crucial, especially when facing a team like Palisades that is gaining momentum.
