Oak Grove vs North Davidson: that rematch happened quick.

Ledford vs Hertford County: should be a good match up. Hertford will be looking for revenge from last year.

Salisbury vs Mt Pleasant: Hornets are a dangerous team to play this year, they should win this one convincingly.

Thomasville vs Newton Conover: Dogs will play old rival Reidsville if they win this one. Should be a good matchup.

Wow, I bet ND is gonna be chomping at the bit to get back at OG in this rematch after the upset early in the season. It could turn out to be a real chippy game.

Looking ahead to possible round 2nd & 3rd round matchups, there will likely be CCC rematches between Ledford and OG or ND and then for the winner of that a 3rd round rematch with Salisbury.

North will be motivated to take some of the luster off of the Oak Grove conference championship (a la Ledford last year),and Oak Grove will be motivated to prove that it was no fluke.

OG obviously proved themselves to be the better team over the course of the season, but ND still has some talent and will be a serious threat if OG doesn't bring their A game.

OG, Ledford, ND and Salisbury all on the same side on the 2AA East. CCC has a chance to put a team in the finals again. Thomasville has some work to do but will be ready. Good to see them back in and playing against teams from “back in the day” when they were making those big runs and winning titles.

The only guarantee is the conference will have at least one team playing in the second round. With that said, I'm pulling for all CCC teams but I'm going with North to take out Oak Grove!! I'm already tired of seeing and hearing BeOG!! I'll hang my hat on the DOGS BeatOG!!!! hahah

It's nice to have another game between these two, I enjoyed the first game as a football fan even though ND lost. I have nothing against Oak Grove, as a matter of fact I like Oak Grove.

ND is the underdog but Jenkins isn't just being thrust into the game at this point like the first one either. I like him a lot and think he will have a great senior year, he's already had a really good junior year. Defense has been giving up about three TDs a game this year on average.

Shewcow is going to be the best running back in the conference next year to go with his performance this year. OG is in the unique position of being a team that is a high seed but could play basketball early depending on the matchup.

Then another potential rematch waits in the wings. Just like when Davie County went on a tear in 2010, if you know what I mean lol.

2AA is a very different road than last year. Still nowhere near as tough as the west...

I still think you could have given last year’s North’s playoff spot to a much weaker 2018 Oak Grove team and they would have likely progressed to the 3rd round. Maybe even given SWE a run for their money.

Cummings was completely awful last year.
First Flight was a hot mess. Once they went for it on 4th and 15 from their OWN 25 yard line.

We know somewhat what to expect with ND against Oak Grove, but the other matchups are tough to judge. No CCC teams have played out of conference since the first two weeks of the season, so their recent results can only be judged against each other. Is Oak Grove the champion of a really weak conference? Is Tville's improvement really just a sign of other conference teams sputtering down the stretch? Or on the other hand, have all of the CCC playoff teams improved, and are some ready to go some rounds? Is ND's fall to fifth due to big improvement by Salisbury, Ledford, Tville? All hard to say.

The ten team conference takes away all of the measuring sticks to judge against playoff competition beyond week 2 of the regular season. I think we could see anything from all of them getting knocked out early rounds to possibly one making a deep run in 2AA east. I would love to see Tville go some rounds in 2A, but Reidsville will be an extremely tough out in round 2.

North and Ledford both regressed. Salisbury, OG and Tville all got much better as well.
That's the way I see it too, but do we really know about where any of them stand against the rest of the state?

Looking back at those first two weeks, Ledford barely lost to Randleman. If that had happened later in the season, it would seem to indicate that whole top half of this league is on par with the team that is the favorite to win the 2AA East. As it is, who knows? That seems like a long time ago now.

Bad part is all the CCC teams play in the same bracket and some of those games may go the other way. Thomasville can beat NC and then will face Reidsville. If they can pull those off they are in great shape to make a deep run. OG should beat ND, but eventually lack of athleticism will bite them like it did against Thomasville.

I'll let others speak for their teams but i will discuss the Knights. North lost the whole defense from last season(a group with talented play makers). I never expected the defense to be as good due to youth and talent. I will say that the defense has gradually improved as the year has gone on. The offense on the other hand isn't lack of talent it is lack of execution. Though Themus was a special player, we still have enough talent on offense. Bad/mishandled snaps, untimely penalties and dropped passes are things you may expect those first couple of games but not at this point of the season. Many have posted that the knights problem is loss of talent but I would say there is loss of depth but lack of execution has been the main issue. Good luck to the Knights and all the CCC teams moving forward with no injuries.

The bad snap was due to the officials not let North switch the balls out. The kicking ball was in the game. The center ask for it to be switched the officials said “no play with it”. He said you can’t snap it one handed.

I think the CCC is the best it's been in a long time. No state powers currently but very consistent in the top 5 and maybe now 6 with Central trending up.

Salisbury, Ledford, ND and Oak Grove can all potentially make the East Regional Title.I expect Randleman to be there waiting but could be wrong.

I disagree. Salisbury recently lost to North (who Ledford just beat) and Oak Grove just lost to Thomasville. Based on that I'd say Thomasville and Ledford have improved the most this year.
I think he was talking improvement and regression from last year to this year, not during the year. But I agree with you about this year.

From the beginning of season I agree. I saw Ledford at the Grimsley scrimmages and they were bad.

I’ve been stewing on this one and actually think North takes down OG in a thriller. Hope I’m wrong but just not impressed by OG down the stretch. North has nothing to lose and it’s a rivalry game #2 in this season. Those always tend to be unpredictable.

Hertford County beats Ledford 28-7. I thought their speed would be a problem for Ledford. This will also be a problem for OG and ND.

Not a good start for our conference :(

Ledford/OG/ND are all similiar in roster, size and athleticism. Hertford was too big and fast for the Panthers and likely the same for the winner of tonights game. Hope one of the remaining CCC teams can make it to the 2AA finals. Thomasville is the lone 2A rep and has a tough game against a very comparable team so good luck Dogs in your quest to become a state power again.

Could be. What quality non-conference wins does the CCC have?
Not a lot. But, in all fairness, with a conference this large, only room for each team to schedule a couple of non-conference opponents. Traditional rivals often play a part in that, regardless of the opponent's strength.

I like Ledford’s non conference schedule. Randleman and Glenn are good choices.
North’s choice of Parkland and Davie were very strong too.

We all know that strength of schedule plays a big part... even with losses, it can help in the long run.
That is reflected in 8-3 Washington being the 2 seed over an 10-1 Oak Grove (3rd seed)
