While I agree that there is a lot of hate, you must understand that for some people this is all they know. Friday night football is a big deal in alot of places. Name calling is childish but someone people get that way when they cant deal with facts.
The coach hasnt recieved any blame yet. I have only said what is unproven at MHS. And that is our coaching staff. While I have said they are doing better than what we had and etc... They will be what makes or breaks this team this year. If the staff will not (as the announcer said on tv thursday night) play to not lose but rather win then Mitchell can do something in the play offs barring injuries or just one of those bad games that happen sometimes. And while a coach cant please everyone, I am not saying anything like that. I dont say I would of done this or that I say on a 4th down play when your team on the field isnt in the right place you need to burn a timeout to insure that coverage is there. I understand why he didnt he thought so what if polk scores. We can just score again. But that is not the way the cookie crumbles in High school. If a team gets to rolling and that teams has good players then if you put up 42 points in a half, what makes you think that they cant do it to you? Never ever play to not lose the lead you have.
And yes I agree, I am happy to win this Friday and move on. But fact of it is is that Mitchell has a good team this year. And I would just hate to see another swain/mitchell game of 2011 happen. When the kids played with everything they had but coaching was the let down. Swain outcoached us into a win that game. And I knew it at halftime. A coach that is decent is going to have plays (just like polk did) that they practice and use in big time need to have it plays. Unlike our drive at polk where we had the time to score and just like the staff I would of trusted my team in that point (even if it didnt work out) the game in 2011 when we had under a couple mins in a tie ball game inside your own 15 or 10 cant remember atm, and swain stacks the box with 9 people on all 3 downs (knowing you are one sided and daring you to pass it on them) would of been a great time for something like a hb pass or formation like polk had. Mitchell will face a team if they dont get put out early that will be just as good or better than them and a good coach will have ways to help his team out. You must have atleast 1 play each week that no one knows you have. Or that your team is great at doing. Like the HB passes of the 90s MItchell teams.. Everyone knew it was coming but how many games did it win? Pittman is 0-1 in big playoff games as a head coach. Lets see if he learned anything from it. I was not the happiest when they gave him the job at MItchell when we had some good people in the running. But I said maybe they see something I dont. Give him his shot. Well this year is his shot. If he gets out coached and has nothing to help his team out, he imo will never be the man to lead a Mitchell team to the promise land. Everyone wants to win. That is why you play the game.
lastly, you may think your the biggest Mitchell fan but I dont know about that. I have watched Mitchell football my entire life. Not been able to go to games lately due to things but still have been horse the next morning from cheering at the raido.
