Great Job Dogs, Defense played well and got us this win! Offense made big plays when needed. Had opportunities to stick the knife in and didnt, hope we can fix that w more important games. Got to clean up the penalties and overcome bad calls moving on. Good win and feels even better after last years fiasco. Good luck CC the rest of the way.

Starting qb took one snap and could not go. Backup did pretty well ...d line once again stepped up big time . That group is gonna be special . Smac shake up i heard km lost . Wow . Go Dogs
Backup QB may end up being starter if he keeps leading them down the field that well. Going to be interesting to see who ends up as the starter once both are healthy. Glad I do not make that call. #12 has a better arm and #18 has better feet.
We put up 33 last week against a better defense .....although not seen it this year yet 12 can run the ball, look at hudl from last 2 years.
I was able to catch the game. CC ran a lot of misdirection stuff and made some plays. They have some athletes. Burns also made some big plays on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. The weather was definitely a factor at times for both squads. I saw some speed from Burns at times tonight and I like it. There are still a few things to work on, but we will take 3-0. I think conference play starts for the Dogs next week. I hope they keep the momentum rolling and continue to get better.
Very proud of my Bulldogs. Apparently we were an 11 point underdog in Cabarrus County but we sure showed them. Got off to a great start with the bounce to Hopper for a TD pass (apparently it got the catch of the week on Football Friday Night). And after Central Cabarrus got their penalty-aided TD and we missed a few scoring opportunities it didn't look good but we made some adjustments and after the interception that led to the Aaron Hill touchdown run, our defense stepped up and got the job done. We actually got to play at Central Cabarrus, what a concept, and even though they didn't get to come to Burns this win is very sweet after last year's fiasco.
Someone already pointed out on another thread that Cleveland County is way down this year except for Shelby. KM and Crest can't be that bad. And keep sleeping on the Dogs but do it at your own risk...

I'm a realist. You've got rose colored glasses on. Shelby is on another planet compared to us right now. And that's not putting Burns down. That's speaking to how good they are. I'm not writing Crest off yet either. It's early my friend. Lots of things can happen. We've got to get better at all aspects of the game.
That is true. From what I have read we do not even know who is starting QB... I missed the game Friday but we won so apparently the "backup" is not too bad right? What is going on with the QB situation?
Starter has a injured ankle.did not take many reps in practice last week. Hopefully he will be ready to go on Monday.

Had to leave Cc early and go straight to the airport but I also thought that Irvin ran the offense well. I think the starting QB deserves to show he can be the leader when healthy but he has a battle on his hands. Both kids have great potential. I don't think Burns fans will beat their chest but we are definitely moving in the right direction. We are a work in progress but we are progressing. I am extremely impressed with the defense. The offense has some kinks but it's more execution that is lacking instead of play calls.
We cant thump our chest by any means but we can definitely be proud and take the paper bags off our heads lol. We started out 3-0 last year too didnt we? so Chase needs to be a big game for us as is every week and every opponent. Our D is playing well against 2 quality opponents, our offense has shown big play capability but need to put some good drives together. I think it is a nice luxury to have a qb be able to step in and play well if another is not 100% No need to rush back early from injury.
I've seen the film and he can run. He also played behind a line that sucked. I mean sucked. One kid never even blocked. I would have pulled my kid for safety purposes. Kid has guts. I'm not saying I his for you LD, I speak the truth. I would have said F this and made sure he was not at risk of head injury.
Calm down Lawndog!! Read earlier post and even I said that 12 deserves to show he is a leader when healthy. The problem is that he ended the season with injury and now has another so we have no choice but to observe who is on the field. I barely saw the team play last season so my word does not go far. 12 when healthy may come out and dominate. If he does I'll be happy as anyone but you don't have to down play what 18 has done to make 12 look better. We all have 12's back but we also hope he can stay healthy. If 18 continues to play it will leave the coaches with a tough decision which is why I said that. Time will tell.
I honestly don't have an opinion on it. I just trust the coaches to make the right decision. I know it's hard for you to see all of the things on the boards about your boy but that comes with the territory. There's a couple hundred quarterbacks in the stands every game. Don't take it to heart and don't let Cam read into it either. We need his head in the game 100% for Burns. Who cares what these middle aged message board posters say. He doesn't need to prove anything to them, just Devine.
BBB remember that offense we found that runs the 3 QB system? lol Beam shot that idea down when it was presented to him haha. 12 will be fine when healthy, it is nice to have a backup that can do what is asked of him when needed. I was on the sideline walking last season when he scrambled once, he had some feet on him.
That post came off a little stong but everyone has an opinion and that what makes this fun . Both kids are great athletes and even better kids who can help the Dogs win ......this stuff is all in fun but on a more serious note i need everyone to keep DE Nate Black in your prayers . His 18 year old girlfriend was killed last night in casar in a single car wreck. They have been together a couple years and it was a very serious relationship . Thanks guys .
It's horrible LD I work with her Daddy .... Watched her grow up and it's just absolutely terrible ...bless them Lord ...she was a sweet girl with an infectious smile
Central has lacked turnout in recent years. They are not expected to do much in conference. Robinson is a good team. Excellent passing game, good defense. You probably will see them in playoffs.
This game almost never happened. Like last year Central Cabarrus saw lightning before the game in Mobile, Alabama.

Lawndog I apologize if my post came across as an attack on your son. I looked back at my post as if I was someone else reading it and it looked that way so that's on me. Let me make it clear. I hope 12 goes out there and kicks ass. I hope he stays healthy but it is good to know 18 can do well when needed. Prayers for the families affected by the loss.

Yea, I wasn't talking about every fan. There are some "qualified" fans out there that have a lot of football knowledge; that I would certainly respect their opinion. But we all know that there are more of the other type of fan. I was more or less talking about the people you hear in the stands that yell at the field or make comments that make no sense.

No worries man....and no apology needed. This is a message board so i get it. I have heard way way worse in the stands than what i will ever read on here which is why i stand down on the field with the chain guys. The qb takes some blame for the downfall and that does come with the territory but he is 9-7 as a starter ....not great but not horrible considering. When cam was behind willie on jvs he was the next drew brees and willie was horrible is what i would hear.....hell some still think anderson is better than newton.....lol....but at the end of the day the coaches will grade tbem out and put the best kid on the field to get the win.
