DK too much about CC, I hear they got banged up alil recently. Hopefully nothing too serious and they can be ready to go for Friday. Can anybody share who to look out for etc... I believe they have scored a bunch in wk 1 but ran into a good Robinson team last week.

Looking forward to a good game and hopefully injury free for both.

They are a wing T team with good speed from there RB s . They lost there starting QB week one so there pass game from what I have saw needs some work. They are a good football team with a good coach so they will be ready to play coming off a loss. We need to play good assignment defense and come ready to play. I may be wrong but I don't think there as physical as Huss was . We need to take one game at a time and not take anyone lightly.

The concord paper says they have a 10th grade RB that is already being recruited by the ACC but he broke a bone in his wrist. I expect they club him up and he plays. Im sure hes good but i take aaron hill all day long. Wish they were coming here but due to the disaster of last year we r doing the right thing and going back to concord....We held Huss to 34 yards total rushing. We knew coming in to the season that Nate Black and Burris would be awesome...BUT how about the development of Stormy Mostellar and Matt Lattimore is a great addition as well. Look for the D line to step up again come Friday.

I don't give a crap about rain. Bring it. Last year was nothing but a joke with the lightning that did not happen for the kickoff. I want to see CC and Burns go at it. They have a nice turf field. Get it on and let's go! They have a heck of a coach in Donnie. He is well respected by many and I am sure he will have them ready. I missed the first half of game 1 so I did not see the Mosteller kid play but he was all over the field. That kid came out of nowhere and he is huge in pads! Every time a play ended last week it was Mosteller, Allen or Black about every time. The defense is good but we need to get the pass defense to tighten up a little. Like I have said before it is all mistakes that coaching can improve. We have a good staff and we will be fine. I would like to see the offense keep the flow a little more. I loved the play calling but we need a little more execution. Not one person to point a finger at. They all had some good and bad. Hill has been the horse though. He runs hard and is tough to bring down.

Sure the offense could have executed better but i will take 31 pts anyday against that fast defense. 2 big pass plays came when we needed them . D is usually ahead of 0 this early but give the pack attack some credit for average 41 in 2 games .

I hear ol Donnie is good but why do his asst coaches leave alot? just curious for some insight?

I know two coaches personally who worked with Donnie and both said they learned more football in their time with him than all of their other years combined. Both said that he was a good person, in no way abusive or over demanding of his assistants.

The two negatives if you want to call it that is that he expects his coaches to be bought into football in some way year around. He is football 365 and guys who wanted to be football only for 3 months out of the year didn't do well with that. And the other was that he is very hands on with the entire program. He lets his coaches coach but he doesn't just give carte blanche control away without some input. Some guys don't like that and want full control over their area which I can understand.

Both of the guys I know liked working with him. It is like everything else and sometimes personalities clash and agendas clash. Some love him and some hate him as is the case with most coaches at all levels.

Donnie Kiefer is the best football Coach in NC! Burns will have their hands full. Btw, DKJ'S D coordinator and O line coach have been with him since he started at CC.

Man I wish I could make this game, but I'll be out of town. From what I hear, CC's offense is pretty good. It's always tough to go against a well oiled Wing T, so we'll see how that goes. Our defense has been good against the run, but as we know this is more assignment football. I hope we can adapt quickly to that. I also here that we feel pretty confident on the offensive side of the ball against CC. This game could be a high scoring one. Weather permitted of course.

I am not sure what i am missing here but CC gets drilled by Robinson and we beat a very talented Huss team but it seems once again we are the underdog. Unless the Robinson kids are world beaters i like our chances....I know they are talented and may have had an off night so we will have to bring our A game no doubt.

Calm down bud. Robinson isn't a bad team. CC has had a better record than us the past few years. Why should we be favored? It's ok.

What about my post would indicate im not calm? Nothing i could read on a hs football message board could get my bp up....too many real world issues ...lol....but yea we will be the underdog in most games we play and thats ok....probably a good thing tbh.

sounds like what every head coach should be like. We know coming in they will be well coached and hungry. They are coming off a loss to a very good Robinson team, and ready to flip the script. We gotta be ready to punch em right back. I hope the weather holds off, dont want to have to cancel the game again and never get a chance to play them.

LD,
I am afraid you are viewing your team thru rose colored glasses. So far your Dogs have beat a homeschool team and a bad 2A team. Not a lot of power rating points in those 2 wins. I have no idea if Burns can beat Central Cabarrus but i do know that it's too early to be beating your chest or ordering rings. Try being a little more realistic with your posts.

I don't have anything to say about this game cause it will be decided on the field. I will tell you this though Hunter Huss is not a bad 2A team. They are fast and physical.

Xchamp15 Huss is not a bad team. They almost shocked east Lincoln and even without Surratt EL is not a pushover. Give Huss a little more credit. I bet that Huss defense would give Crest all the hell they could handle. That Huss defense is better than Asbrook.

X ....so i said we have to bring our A game to beat them. How is that unrealisitc. Glad u r an ncpreps post critic.........lol....but i do always see glass is always half full and i disagree huss is a bad 2a team. Who is your team btw?

Was going to try and listen to burns game but the KTC crowd once again having " issues"

The last ten minutes I've got to hear about someone taking medicine for pancreas and how I85 is how you get somewhere ....

Not an actual game announcer to be heard ....

SL. You sure your on the right link? Ive been watching/listening to the Burns game for last 45 mins. and audio is good. Video is a little jumpy though.

Good game so far. Burns leads CC 13-7 at the half. Irving kid started at QB for Burns. Sounds like he is doing a good job. penalties have hurt Burns so far.

Horrible refs!! Some penalties are legit but the PI on Hopper was terrible and lead to the CC score.

Hate I missed it. Good win for us against a good coached team. Sounded like it should have been worse. 2 times inside the 10 without a score will hurt eventually. On to the next one.

The refs didn't help but Burns didn't help themselves at times either. Nasty conditions and all I will take it. Burns should have put a few more on but take the W and keep getting better. The defense is just nasty at times!
