Best concessions

Marvin, some New Jersey chick named Bea or Dee, Wilber, his girlfriend named Kimberly, a Kentucky gal we had gotten out of rehab in Ohio the previous week, myself and this lady named Anna " Thunderbird " Blunderslurred, an ex-pole dancer from Bibb County, Georgia, were in attendance at a ball game one blustery, drizzly , Friday evening , when Ms. Blunderslurred remarked, " Hey, GSO, why don't you or that lazy ass Marvin fetch me, Bea, and Kimberly and Wilber some concession treats before the athletic event since we did all the operation of the motorized vehicle to get us to this particular environment slash location ? " We had come to this ball game on a total lark, Ms. Blunderslurred not knowing a football from a goat dropping. Ditto for Wilber, Bea, and Kimberly.. Marvin was a dude from Stokes County, and had that brogue from that particular region that sounds similar to an accent from the Birmingham, England area , or other parts of the countryside from over yonder. Marvin had been married to my sister for a short while before he joined a two bit carnival as the Scrambler operator. He would remark such things to the ladies in the various watering holes, " You wanna go to the riva and drank some likka ? " We walked up to the Concessions Tent, it was an actual tent, and Marvin pulls from his coat pocket a bundle of collards he had purchased at a road side Collard Stand in the Sandhills region of N.C. Marvin suddenly remarked, " Is there any way in the world you could fry these here collards up in some of that there coffee colored grease ? " The three ladies that were volunteering their time to serve concessions to the general public, bless their hearts, they looked at each other, then they'd look at us, Marvin making Billy Gibbons, Leon Russell , or them Robertson's look like Mister Clean or that dude that plays Mister Rogers on Mister Roger's Neighborhood , when one of them remarked, " Sure, we'll fry you up some of them collards " And fry them up they did. Ms. Blunderslurred, or Anna , later admitting in the hotel lodging facility that the fried collards, with a touch of mustard and a dash of pickle relish was the most tasteful thing she'd ever consumed, five star joints included, as she exclaimed, " them sonsobeaches tasted better than strawberry mountain jam. " I'd have to say fried collards was the best concessions ever consumed at a ball game , even though they weren't on the official Concessions Menu.
