I'm sure it was students. They have the most gang activity there in Kinston as anywhere in the east I would suspect. But I have never been to a football game there and felt threatened. Always uneasy after games going back to my car because you never know but I have never been mistreated there. I haven't been to a basketball game there in years. They get more wound up over basketball I think. By they I mean students.

Kinston was one of the few places I had to go thru a metal detector at a football game...............Eastern Regional finals in 2011..Kinston/Reidsville....also had a pocket knife (that I always carry) and had to give that up and never got back..............lol........................Otis 4411 you sound like you are doing well....................
I really am. I awoke from surgery with very little pain in my neck. My left arm has no pain and no numbness or tingling. I've been up walking the floor around this unit and I haven't had pain meds since I awoke from surgery. 23 years ago when they operated on my next I awoke to terrible pain and thought I was dying. This has been pleasant compared. Was told I would be in here 2 days but this evening the talk was I may go home today now. We'll see. I don't mind another day if needed to give the fusions time to start healing in.

Most people who do this work say they are not in it for the money, which can range from $35 per game for beginners to $150 for more experienced officials. Many have full-time jobs and make time to officiate games in the evening and on weekends. From 2018 to 2021, an estimated 50,000 high school referees......roughly 20 percent quit. For years, unruly parents have turned youth sporting events into a toxic environment. This is a nightmare across all sports. They are keepers of the game.
out of that 50,000 officials quiting I wonder how many just simply got to old to do it?...it seems this younger generation doesnt wanna get involved with it at all and im sure some of it has to do with parents etc....but how much is it cause they are just lazy and dont wanna work like the generations before us have?
THIS................I'm 72 and work part time and could work full time if I wanted because the place I work just can't find younger people willing to work....I fear for the future of this country for my grandchildren...................................
The young generation is lazy. I am sure many games through out the state have been canceled because no one is available to referee them. I heard referees quit and no new referees applied because the pandemic shut things down two years ago.
